but if you're to include Mia Audina then INA should have 15 against China's 14.

interestingly LCW was left out because of the doping issue, otherwise guess who is going to be left out of the list?

Interesting enough that Alan in the list, what his impact then except jackpot lucky in '92, then why JXP not included too? JXP even better performance and draw in '00. Funny...

So, i don't understand why Saina is in, what make her greater than LXR, WYH, GZC, even th like WC, ZM or GRN?

And why LJ, HJ, or XGB left out...

It is always subject to controversy with a list for the all time’s great irrespective of whoever complied and whatever criteria adopted for the list.

I’ve took the liberty to ‘translate’ your post for someone not that familiar with initials.

    Alan – Alan Kusuma (INA)
    JXP – Ji XinPeng (CHN)
    LXR - Li Xuerui (CHN)
    WYH - Wang Yihan (CHN)
GZC - Gong Zhi Chao (CHN)
    WC - Wang Chen (CHN/HK)
    ZM - Zhou Mi (CHN/HK)
    GRN - Gong Ruina (CHN)
    HJ - Han Jian (CHN)
    XGB - Xiong Guobao (CHN)
    LJ - ??

may be you can help to fill in the gap (??).

I don`t agree with Carsten Mogensen being ranked better than Hendra Setiawan and Lee Yong Dae, in fact I don`t think he should be on the list at all!

They must be using really skewed parameters here to come to these conclusions! Like man, people may disagree over some players who are broadly equal, but how can you ever come with a list this insane!

    Anomalies:
    1. Zhao Yunlei
How many players in history have been the reigning WR1, Olympic Champion and World Champion in BOTH WD and XD Simultaneously? You can't even count the number of major titles she has won. The first women in history to achieve TWO GOLD in single OLYMPICS! Hell, there are only 3 players who have achieved 3 Golds in any number of Olympics - She, Lin Dan, Zhang Ning.

    2. Saina Nehwal
Can she be in the top 50? Absolutely possible. But today, if she is in top 50, but LXR and Wang Yihan are not, that is a serious crime. Even she will tell you that the other two have been better than her. I don't even know what kind of metric she would surpass LXR in.
World Ranking- LXR has been WR1 for more than 2 years now, while Saina has reached WR2 for some weeks.
    Olympics - Gold vs Bronze
World Championship - 2 silver vs nada
Asian Games - 2 Silver vs 1 Bronze

I can't even count. Half of the names in this list shouldn't be there at all.

why are Ge Fei / Gu Jun and Fu/Cai lumped into one while Ricky/Rexy are separated?

and how can Ge/Gu who has a 4 years winning streak including 2 olympic golds be ranked so low?

how can there be mention of Li Yongbo without his partner Tian Bingyi?

how can there be no mention of Gong Zhichao who has achieve much more than most of the players in the list?

how can there be mention of Li Lingwei without Han Aiping?

and technically, Tony Gunawan is Indonesia/USA. :)

and honestly, Lee Chong Wei should be in the list. very close to the top. and then kick Mogensen out to make space.

I dont know anything about this magazine b'coz I'm not a reader of it. According to some people here, it's the top magazine for badminton. So, there must be some proper coordinates to measure the positions..

Only the author can explain how he/she calculated the positions, based on which parameters, etc. So, if anybody here from this magazine, they can explain regarding this...

    Yes, LJ is Luan Jin.

And also the list forgot about HAP, DJ, Icuk, Joko, Tine and BSH.
HAP is absolutely must in, DJ have similar role as YZY in Cina, he is the restart of China's MS to top world again after slum period.
Icuk is an iconic player, despite his annoying behaviour (at least for me) during and after his time.
Joko is backbone for Indonesian glory for years in 90's, and more deserve than Alan despite he never have olympic medal.
Tine is long obstacle for China, she like representative for all ROW during her peak.
BSH is gold and silver olympic medalist, has huge achievement other than olympic, she revenge Susi to make her only got gold and bronze olympic. BSH olympic achievement greater than Susi, why she left out????

Maybe I forgot some name too, but read th list, its reall funny, I think there is 10 or so not deserve in. And more name deserve in but not. Least, some name in the list mismatch for the rank.
    Mia deserve more higher position.

    OT:
Is anyone know, why Yang Yang retired before Oly'92, I think he able to prolong his career at least until '92.
And what happen to WWK, why he not selected for Atlanta '96. China send DJ, SJ and somebody else.
    Maybe my information wrong, but...

Haha...what a laughing stock, how on earth does Lee Chong Wei not in the list despite he won numorous trophies, championship and became World no.1 for 6 years plus (Aug'08 till Dec'14)? And who is Finn Kobbero (Denmark), Svend Pri (Denmark), Judy Hashman (England), Guan Weizhen (China), Gillian Gilks (England), Nora Perry (England), Lene Køppen (Denmark), Thomas Lund (Denmark) and Erland Kops (Denmark). These players only won "some" medals and did they really deserve their name in top 50 players of all-time?

Btw this list is made in Germany/Europe, hence there are more Denmark players in the list compare to Malaysia and Korea. If the list is publish in Asia, we will see the inclusion of more Asian badminton legends like Datuk Punch Gunalan (Malaysia), Tan Aik Huang (Malaysia), Misbun Sidek (Malaysia), Razif/Jalani Sidek (Malaysia), Foo Kok Keong (Malaysia), Cheah Soon Kit/Yap Kim Hock (Malaysia), Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong (Malaysia), Lee Hyun Il (Korea), Ha Tae Kwon (Korea), Shon Seung-Mo (Korea), Bang Soo-hyun (Korea), Syed Modi (India), Aparna Popat (India), Pullela Gopichand (India) and Nandu M. Natekar (India).
