Big surprise that both Sigit and Halim are not on the team but are available as practise partners...Hmm...

That's a very big disappointment, indeed.

I think that the article stated that Candra and Trikus made the TC team, while Halim and Sigit are only going to be there as warm-up or practicing partners :)

It will be great to watch this new pair of Trikush/Candra! I will be rooting for both of them. But if they play against Msia.. i will support M'sia. They are very powerful and quick.

    Hey Honghong,

I'm just curious if u are aware that candra's brother, Indra Wijaya, used to play for Singapore?
and Ronald Susilo is Candra's brother-in-law?

Candra is one great guy. He's very obliging and very friendly. You don't find the airs you would expect of a world champion, or an Olympic champion for that matter, on him at all. He appears in the public stands very often and is very popular with kids. There are always lots of people swarming him for autographs and he obligingly grants everyone their photo/autograph requests. He's a very nice brother too. He stayed back till the end of Indra's match everyday even though he had finished his hours ago, then Indra, Candra, Caroling and Ronald would leave together after that. Oh these were from Asia Cup 2001, Singapore Open 2001 and 2002 by the way. Sigh, I feel saddened at the thought that many people will be gone after Athens. I miss Hendrawan.

Anyhow, I really hope Indonesia retains the Cup. GO INDONESIA!! It's their only pride now.

I'm a huge fan of Candra...however, i feel the PBSI will live to regret the Candra Trikush decision. That is a MASSIVE decision to make, and, even tho i will root for Indo, China may take it this year.

Mens Singles: Lin Dan, Chen Hong, Chen Yu...LOADZ!
Mens Doubles: Well, Cai and Fu are amazing, and that other Chinese pair

    Wha a team China has

    why some posts disappear..

The use of standard English words is strongly encouraged.

Occasional use of other languages is acceptable.

    Dear Honghong,

What is common to you may not be common to the majority of readers. You must remember that a lot of the readership of this forum is a decade or two (or three) older than you, and for a lot of them, this is the only internet forum that they visit. They are not exposed to the shorthand usages of younger generations. Also most countries do not have the sms culture of the Singaporeans (actually Americans don't have sms at all from memory) so we don't write 300 sms' a month to practise our modern net shorthand (nor do they icq or msn).

As such it is quite difficult for many readers, especially those who are not native English speakers, to interpret what you are saying. English speakers have the advantage of being able to guess what you mean from saying the phrase phonetically.

Unfortunately the needs of the many will in this case dictate the needs of the few, please try to write in formal English.

Whilst Honghong it may seem that people are unfairly victimising you, I'm sure having been around this site for many years, Cheung would do nothing of the sort. I'm certain that he shares my opinion that your enthusiasm for badminton is great, and that you should share it with all of us, but in a manner that is easy for everyone to understand.

PS Most of my friends use "dun" for don't.
