For me is BG65 which i last used 6 months ago. I have been using it since i started playing badminton 3yrs ago. Find it is Stretchable? I can feel the dent in my strings when i smash. Give out a realliy loud 'BANG' and have a solid feel which i like. Durable too. Lasted 4 months. Tried Ashaway M5? Which loses power after 1 month of playing. Quite Durable. Broke after 3 months. Tried BG66 but finds it not as powerful as BG65 although people and yonex claim it to be a more powerful string.. Sound not good too. Lasted around 1 month+. Tried BG80 and finds it much like BG66. didn't feel any difference. Tried BG68Ti on 2 racketsbut didn't realli get the feel. Find it too stiff and dead.. with slices all gone out of places and no power.. smashes are fast but not enough feel and sound. Both string snapped in less than 27 days. Maybe i was trying too hard to get the feel. S$32 gone. Currently Using MicroLegend but yet to play my 1st game with it. will be updating soon. seems pretty powerful to me. What about u guys?
My favorite---BG 80 I'm not a very hard hitter.Durability is not a big issue to me. BG 80---My most favorite string, smash is good. BG 85---Great touch and control,Great clear BG 66---I'd rather choose BG 85 instead of it. BG 68 Ti---Not only me but some of my fds don't like it, the feel is strange...It is stated best play with Ti rackets, unfortunately I never try BG 68 Ti on any of my Ti range... BG 65---Never tried BG 65 Ti---Never tried BG 70Pro---On my 2 old Pro Kennex...haha
Next time try Babolat Next time I may try Babolat 0.7mm natural gut! Here in HK, It costs around USD 30(Include string price and stringing labor charge) Meanwhile a set of BG 80 or BG 85 is USD 10 include labor charge... Maybe I'll mix the Babolat with Yonex BG, to string 2 racket at same time...
My favorite string is BG80 I use BG65 only though, for the fact it's more durable. Gosen makes some very nice string as well... if you can get your hands on tec gut tour/bs88 It actually rivals that of the BG80, only that it's not as durable. I will only use BG80 in tournaments now, but that hasn't been for hmm... let me see a very long time now LOL. But yeah... BG65 tops my book. -Kelvin PS: BG88ti is nice stuff as well, but it's too costly for me.
I have tried the following strings: BG65: Great strings with Great color selections. Also, its cost is the least expensive and it's very durable. BG65TI: I Don't like it; Too slippery for me. BG66: Awesome power, but breaks fast. Since I am a stringer, restringing is not a problem to me at all. BG68TI: A little slippery, but not bad. I don't use this very often, but it works pretty good. BG70PRO: The most durable string to me But I tend to use this string only on my back up rackets. BG80: I don't think it work for me very well. Just not my style. BG85: It's about the same as BG66. It lasts a little longer, but the cost is also higher. I like thin strings I tend to use BG66, 68TI, and 85 more nowadays. BG65 and 70 Pro sometimes..... But no BG 65TI or 80 for me.
Interesting to note that natural gut is still popular now...back in my school days, we used to envy those teammates of mine that have a Cab20 with natural guts...
BG 85!!!!!!!!! I have tried Babolat Natural Gut to be main and BG85 to be cross before. Execellent Playability but poor Durabiliy. The main was broken after 2 matches (less than 4 hours including my resting time).
bg 65 @28lbs..i have elbow pains now younger brother just came back from japan with bg65 power, can't wait to try. has anybody hear use it yet?
I have been using GOSEN Hi Sheep Super Micro 0.69 mm for a long time, and I like it, plus it's cheap.
Natural Gut is very easily to break. If you have tried it, you would find Natural Gut would be depreciating quickly. If the weather is very dry, the life of Natural Gut would be also shorter.
Agreed. Had BG65P for a month and it felt like a BG65 but with harder string surface. For me, BG85, BG80 and BG66 are the string of my choice. Love to try BG88Ti one day.
The daddy of them all - natural gut (was anyone waiting on me saying that?) $30, I'm a bit more expensive with it costing £22 in the UK
I decided to take back what i said about BG68Ti. I guess it was just my luck that it broke so fast. Recently Tried my friend's AT500 with BG68Ti strung at 24lbs and it was @#%&^ing powerful.. just 1 touch is enough to send the shuttle to the other court. Just move your hands and it will go to the baseline. but the control will be abit harder. Nevertheless, BG66 is still too fragile to me. also to update the recently strung MicroLegend on my Ti-Dream... Strung at 26lbs. At first was not really impressed. its thick and its stretchable. but not as much as BG65. The String was pushed to the side and the gap betweens the lines can be seen after a full strength smash. Can see where the shuttle was hit. But after 2 more days of intense hardhitting, the power seems to grow for every shot. yes. its becoming more and more stretchable. shots are becoming more powerful.. control was good too. Maybe cause of my racket(5U). Well. Overall was a good string. Love it! Hope it continues to improve.
