eagerly waiting for mine, plastic toe area looks good for me (serial shoe wrecker). The thin laces look a bit funky
Got the purple pair of these the other week to replace my Victor SH-9100's. Have to say they are absolutley incredible! So light, fast and stable. We'll see what the durabillity is like after a few weeks but I love them so far.
Looks great but wondering how the inner side of the shoe will hold up against my non-stop foot dragging.
I got them from http://www.adidasspecialtysports.co.uk/product/adizero-feather-shoes/B40487 Came across that website by chance, but it has loads of really great badminton specific Adidas kit!
How is the cushioning of the Adizero compare to the Victor's pair? As it is light, I don't think it will be that good. I had one pair of Adizero running shoes, but it isn't impressed me much in terms of cushioning.
Cusioning seemed as good as the Victors to me, but I'm not someone who looks for that in my shoes so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.
So I got them, and quite honestly, I've never seen anything like it. Almost the entire shoe is plastic, with seperate cushioning inside. The outside feels stiff, and the inside soft and comfy. The entire toe-box is surrounded with wear-resistant plastic, which works quite well (it was partially done on the QF7's). The shoe is quite light, in size 12UK it's 300gr (compared to 380 for QF7). First impression: a very nice shoe
Any chance you know the relative sizing of these Adizeros compared to typical Yonex sizing? Should I order the same size I always get from Yonex? Thanks!
hard to say on my part, I'm a size EU46 in yonex, and EU47(1/3) for these. However, they're both listed as UK12 :s
If you are making holes in your shoe (non racquet leg inner side) at the lower metatarsal joint by dragging while lunging then take your shoe to the cobblers and ask for a leather patch 4cm x 4cm to be sown on to that area. Might not look great but makes the shoe last much longer. I found making these holes was due to me being always late for net drops..... Work on the footwork! Nogs
So I've been using these shoes for quite some time, here's my review Adizero Feather, size UK12 [EU47 (1/3)] I've tried and wrecked a whole lot of shoes in the last couple of years, I play about 4-6 times a week and rotate between shoes to keep them dry. I've been switching between Adidas BS Feathers, Quickforce 7's and these shoes. Weight and fit Comparing to the BT's and QF7 these shoes are lighter by quite a stretch. One Adizero weighs 307gr, whereas my QF7 weighs in at 375gr ( both without insole). The fit is not too narrow, but still quite snug around my foot, If your feet fit the QF 5 or 7 well, these should be fine. Performance Compared to th QF's these shoes are lighter and faster, however it does come at a price, the dampening on the 7's is just a little bit better. The zero shoe is a bit closer to the ground and the difference is noticable. The zeros are also more flexible in the sole, twisting and turning it is a whole lot easier. For me, I quite like a flexy shoe and at times had problems with really stiff shoes like the BT feathers. The grip on the sole is great and the extra thin shoelaces work well. The Adizero's have a hard plastic line around the entire frontfoot area, which is a blessing for me as the last 9/10 pairs of shoes I wrecked tore open right next to my little toes (left foot). So far they've held up great with remarkable abuse.
Thanks for your greate review! My shoes are on the way,I have oder from MBS last week.Cant waite to put them on court
So, perhaps I should update my use of these shoes. Almost the week after writing the previous review I decided to drop these shoes. The first two/three weeks they played great, however the "fabric" of the shoe (mostly plastic) has lost a lot of it's structural integrity. Every time I go for a big lunge or jump, I can feel my foot moving over the shoe-sole. like these poor shoes have to endure or I'm back to the old-fashioned leather shoes like the QF7
