    Hi BC,

Reading through the forums has left me a bit confused and thus this specific post requesting advise for racket buy.

    My specs:
    game: doubles. (club level)
shuttle used: mavis 500 (nylon) or yonex AS2 / LiNing AS62 (feather)
game level: would say somewhere between intermediate and advanced.
game type: good control & defense but weak at smashing. slow smash swing. also feel, I have to put in more effort than others at clears.
other issues: mild elbow pain while playing fast doubles backhand drives or fast rallies (age 38)
current racket : yonex isometric power (around 50$)

want to upgrade to a decent one (200$ budget) among yonex, li ning or victor. (due to better availability locally)

please also advise string pairing & starting tension.

as per whatever I have read or in brochures: victor bs12L or yonex islash w bg66um strings at 23-24lbs tension should be it.

think for my game: even balance, medium flex, 4u weight should click.

    Please advise. Thanks.

damn, how did I miss this? tk6000. just read review of Paul of Badminton coach uk & browsed a couple of pages of BC thread on it. 4ug5 looks like a winner for my purpose. ok, top of my list for now unless... thanks amleto.
also thanks visor; was almost sold on BS12 before the tk6000. I would prefer lighter weight to avoid stress injury. (not getting younger :)
still may get a feel comparison at the shop.
please suggest string n tension also if possible for tk6000.

I play with the tk9000 which is a bit stiffer. Also with some other victor rackets and I like ashaway zymax 65 strings on them (there is a new range out now as well)

Strings really are a personal preference thing and you should just try some and see what you like. I would start at around 24lb tension and see how it feels.

String ZM66 Fire, 23 lbs for plastic, 25 lbs for feather is a good start.

TK6000 may be hard to find though...
