My ZF2 is strung with BG65@25lbs and it breaks every 2 weeks which is about 15-20 hours of play. It always breaks in the middle of the raquet, horizontal strings. I was wondering if the strings break that fast is because of the raquet model (someone with a ZF2 might confirm) or it has something to do with my movement ?

    Thanks

Maybe you string the cross strings to0 hard. Try cross=mains or mains>cross.
Maybe you got a bad reel of Bg65.
Maybe your stringer damages the string.

BG65 should not break that fast. I had mine string close to 30lbs and that lasts for almost one year.

If this happens with another stringer, have you checked for small nicks on the string after each job?

The condition of your cross grommets?

I doubt those are bad batch. Can find you by getting it strung at a well known shop instead and see if this happens.

instead of 25lbs for both cross and main, try 24 x 26 lbs..

They seems fine, I got 3 zf2 and the same thing happen on each of them... That's why I thought it was maybe the model, or the movement that cause the problem.

That's very unusual. BG65 is known for its durability.
Have you noticed any fraying of the strings before the breakage or did the strings seem fine?

Yes they have fraying around the sweet spot and I can predict with pretty good accuracy when they are about to break

That's normal then. After playing for a while the strings begin to fray and lose elasticity - only a matter of time then until they break. I don't have much experience with BG65, but 2 weeks seems a rather short time. Are you a hard hitter?

It is not the model. I use ZF2 and string at 31x33lbs with BG66UM - My strings break once every month or so. But I only play for 6 hours a week.

Do you slice the shuttle a lot? This will damage the strings more than a clean contact. Have you tried BG65ti?

I don't hit particulary hard but I do play a lot of clears/smashes. I don't slice much and I heard that when we slice a lot left and right the main strings are moving and it usually breaks there. Mines are always breaking cross, is it possible that I slightly slice the shuttle up or down during my clears/smashes and breaking there as a result ?

No. It sounds like you play a lot, and you use a particular string. Try changing the string and see what happens. BG68ti is a good durable string.

maybe that's the answer. the strings become much more fragile due to lower temperature and humidity.

Agreed. I have similar issues here in Perth during winter where it drops to similar temperatures. While it may be more humid because winter here = rain, the cold alone makes my strings go within a month and I have to be much more careful about mishits.
