Koreans dealt a double blow ahead of Finals
PETALING JAYA: South Korea were dealt a double blow in their preparation for the Thomas-Uber Cup Finals when both their top men's and women's doubles players - Ha Tae-kwon and Ra Kyung-min - were ruled out due to injuries.
Yesterday, South Korea's doubles chief coach Park Joo-bong said that Tae-kwon is down with a back injury while Kyung-min is nursing an injured knee.
Tae-kwon will be replaced by Lee Jae-jin, which will be subjected to the International Badminton Federation (IBF)'s approval while Kyung-min will not be replaced.
With Tae-kwon out, they will bank on Lee Dong-soo-Yoo Yong-sung, Yim Bang-eun-Kim Yong-hyun and Dong-moon to carry their challenge.

Wow... Ra Kyung-min injured?! This close to the Olympics?! That's really bad news, especially if you consider their current XD run. Hopefully it won't be a serious injury, since they really deserve the XD gold at the Olympics with the way they've dominated this past year.

Sure it's real bad luck for Ha and Ra. But if both can't play in the Olympics, the person suffers even worse is Kim Dong Moon. He will have to drop out in both MD and XD.

Thomas and Uber Cups take a back seat
There is no doubt Ha Tea Kwun and Ra Yuming are injured but it's not that serious, in my opinion. I think not including these 2 into the lineup mainly is to avoid further possbile injury and I am pretty sure by the time Olympic comes, Ra and Ha will go all out for the gold. To the Koreans, Olympic is the most important event above all, even prestigious Thomas and Uber Cups have to take a back seat.
I am not concern at all about the seriousness of Ha and Ra injuries, I think it's more precautionary measure not to include them in the TC & UC events.

Very saddening news. Very unfortunate for both players who would have made their final appearances in the respective Cups. Great waste for Ra Kyung Min who could have finally avoided a strong opponent in Gao Ling. Please recover soon...... please recover real soon. The XD Gold is still in the waiting...

She deserves to win a gold medal.
Park Joo Bong interviewd with Korean journalist~
He will do his best for Ra to be a gold medalist. Ra was Park's pupil and won a silver-medal in mixed with him(96'OG). He really hope Ra will be happy with much delight as gold medalist.

Exactly. That's the sole reason why she's holding on till now. Please give her what she deserves.

Thanx a mil jeicegreen!! I can read the Korean alphabet and more or less guess the nouns and verbs in the headlines but grammar-wise I am far from proficient so reading articles is actually quite an impossible task for now.

Bad news, but it could be a blessing in disguise. Ra could recover quick enough for Athens, but she will be missing her last Uber Cup. Dilemma dilemma... bittersweet.
