Simon Santoso is currently rank 60 in the world, a 19 yrs old player born on the yr 1985. His best performance so far is the runner up in the Singapore Pools Asian Satellite 2003
Wiempie Mahardi may be the 4th single on the Indonesian team. Maybe they will put him to play against weak opponents to let him gain experience. He is currently rank 98 in the world. Not as good as Sony, Taufik and Simon. his best performance so far is in the Quarter Finals in the Sgp Open 2003.
U can see their full details at www.worldbadminton.net

Hi Elise, welcome onboard!
Simon, although he is relatively short for a singles player, has demonstrated at last year's Singapore Pools Asian Satellite, that he is not unduly disadvantaged and he is able to make up with his speed on the court. He wields a very fast smash, his strongest stroke I think, and was able to defeat a much higher ranked and experienced player like Indra Wijaya. He only lost to Ronald Susilo in the final. Wiempie is actually more experienced than Simon for I have seen him playing in S'pore before Simon was first introduced during the Satellite tournament, but he is just not as talented as Simon and has to be contended with the no. 4 singles slot.
Although Simon has not achieved much success in the international arena during the past year as he was relatively new and his main objective was to gain exposure, but with this experience and the fact that at the TC he will be
playing at home, I think he will shine in his role as third singles. He has a bright future ahead of him as he is still very young!
Anyway, I have confidence that Indonesia will retain the TC.
