Do you paint racket brand logo on your strings?
Do you use stencil ink or marker pen and paint the brand of your racket (eg yy) on your strings? I tried it before on my Proace and Yonex rackets. But after a while, I decided that since Yonex and Proace did not pay me to use their rackets, why should I advertise for them for free! : ) I actually printed out the logos from Yonex and Proace websites (after resizing them) and make stencils using cardboard. It was great fun anyway.

So, why do you not design your own and make it individually ?

Compare this to professional photographers: they often cover the manufacturers logo with black tape. They don't want to promote the manufacturer, which I find a very sound thought. I mean, why should we?
I always feel a bit uncomfortable when I play with a new racquet that has the logo painted on the strings.

Re: Do you paint racket brand logo on your strings
You're right Sum, I know a buddy of mine, who did his initials.
Then spray painted them on???
Anyway... it looked really cool.
I've even seen someone do a happy face logo in different colors on their strings!!!!
:P :? :X B)

Re: Do you paint racket brand logo on your strings
Why is that Mag?
Is it like a psychological thing?
Or just you don't want to help out the company, because they aren't paying you to advertise for them?
I know when I advertised for them here like that, they probably generated some of the highest sales in the city that they've seen in a very long time.
Especially from my school alone, waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.
at least 48 people bought a new racquet same brand, because they were interested in mine... their thinking was "wow! if I get a racquet like his, I'll be just as good!!"
Which we all know is a total load of BS... but hey, anything to help promote the sport.

Mmm... yeah, well, I guess I'm not particularly fond of the idea of the consumer as a walking advertising space.

hmmm..... I don't mind if a brand name can be seen. I'm not a pro so I don't get paid for it, so I don't care. Just play!!

hi all, does anybody know how you can remove stencil ink from racquet strings then - i'm using Ashaway Flex 21, te guy who strings them puts his logo on them- but it looks like he's used sooooo much that the strings stick when they get moved - so i'm having to move them back almost every rally.
any hints?
ps - from what i remember you can't use white spirit - dries the string out apparnently and makes it brittle...
cheers

If I use metallic paint, does this affect the durability of the strings?
I think putting smiley face on a string would look good. lol

my friend has the smiley face. its way cooler than the yy or any other corporate logo on the string... especially when u see him preparing to recieve service, and the smiley just cant be missed. made my laugh out loud the first time i actually saw it on court.

I always thought about getting a custom logo to paint on my strings. Maybe something like Pacman or something
