Taufik is now refusing to train with the rest in PBSI. PBSI is in the last stage of prepare their shuttlers for the events coming up, but Taufik said he is well prepared and all he needs now is rest and recouperate.

When asked if he will leave PBSI, he said he has no plans, but if he were asked to leave, he will go right away.

I think he'd rather being fired instead of quit. Taufik should've already prepared.

His neck is on the line.
If he does do well, he will be a National hero.
If he does badly (with PBSI giving him hassle), he'll blame it all on PBSI.
If he does badly with PBSI giving no problems, he'll be severely criticised.

Overall, he's either very headstrong or very manipulative.

  8. This conflict between PBSI and Taufik has gone long enough. You can't have a good badminton team if there is no harmony within the organization. Taufik should go, I'm sure there are few crouching tiger and hidden dragon in a mad badminton nation like Indonasia, all they need is internation exposure. With his talent, youth, and good look, I'm sure he can make a huge impact in the United State. He can be the Wayne Gretzky of badminton, that would be nice. Which is more important, national pride or promote the sport he love?

do u really think he's dat selfish???

  10. No but it does do him any good or the nation if this bad ill feeling continues. Either find a mediator to settle the dispute or move on.

What bothers me is that I haven't heard anything about what caused Taufik to act this way, other than PBSI not wanting to keep his coach. then I thought all that had been settled, and Taufik is still complaining.

Compare this to Feng Permadi, who left Indonesia for the Taiwan team so he could get more playing time. No bitter words, just a decision based on his own professional requirements. Or consider Mia Audina, who wanted to be with her husband in the Netherlands. Both cases easily understandable.

    So what's Taufik's real problem?

I hate to say this but I think he's just throwing his weight around. He knows that he's one of the very few MS talents left in Indonesia and is trying to see how much concessions he can get PBSI to give him. As I've said in another post, the coach issue isn't really there - he mentioned himself that he had always felt "jealous" of players training under Agus Santoso (?), ie. Hendrawan and Rony's coach. Can't remember the source or the rest of the article but his attitude, at least to me, seemed pretty neutral. No doubt his coach means a lot to him but in my opinion, he's more or less just using it as an excuse.

Nah, he needs to be beheaded. And this is the first time I'm speaking so harshly of any player. The last time I merely suggested a whipping =P
