Is 9 players for a 2-hour court considered low density? I thought usually it should be 6 players to a 2 hour court?

You are right. For intermediate player, average should be 6 players per court for 2 hours. But for beginner level like them, 9 person should be ok. But should not be low court density. Anyway, now hardly find a group organize for game and share cost. Many are organize to make small money.
It is not worth the effort to make such money. You can try to organise one to experience it. It is not easy to book regular courts nor get regular attendance too. I join and play many grps and dont mind paying even up to $12. I appreciate those organisers' effort that book multiple courts. PLS DO NOT REPLY ON MY THREAD. We are a fun and friendly group that consist of some regular players. Group is recently formed to allow interaction and recreational sessions for our fellow training kakis at 21Badminton Acadamy. We are trying to make it a regular recreational session every Sat 7/8 - 10pm in the east (prefably Pasir Ris Sportshall subject to availability).
