Calling all our BFers from Indonesia, I'll appreciate if someone can help me with the following regarding the TC/UC in Jakarta: I intend to visit Jakarta for the TC/UC from 12-16 May but is a total stranger there. 1. Where is the stadium. Any website that I can visit to pinpoint the place? 2. Can you suggest a budget hotel (I hope to fly our first budget airline, Valuair costing S$138 to Jakarta) near the stadium? 3. Are the tickets still available and how are they priced. Is there a website on this? 4. Can I join you guys to have a game of badminton, you supply the racket? This is optional. 5. Any other suggestions? Thanks a million!

Thanks alot, Jofianty. Looking forward to your map. I think the Hilton may be a bit pricey since I'm staying for quite a few nights. The Valuair website suggested a few like Arcadia Hotel and Hotel Sofyan Tebet at Jl. Tebet in the commercial business area. Wonder are these hotels near the stadium?
Loh, Here are the maps. NB. Istora Senayan is now Bung Karno Indoor Stadium (or in Indo "Gelora Bung Karno"). This stadium is just onder "Stadion Renang" = Swimming Stadium (on the map). In the middle of the map.

the cheapest hotel will be century park, but i suspect its being used to house the athletes... century park & mulia are walking distance away, plus u get to go shopping at plaza senayan (very nice mall). hilton is near but could take 20 mins to reach the stadium my cab if there's a jam. hilton & mulia are 5* hotels, century park between 3* & 4*.. if i were u i'd try century park, but if not i'll shell out the extra $$$ for mulia cause the traffic is a killer....
Thanks Pebulutangkis. Yes Jkusmanto has also recommended Century Park which is the best location an price for my purpose. I have made reservations for 5 nights and now awaiting for their response. This morning I have booked my return air ticket from Valuair, a budget airline which just started their fights to Jakarta. I only hope that I can get the stadium tickets from QF to Finals when I get there. I think I will enjoy myself immensely and am therefore looking forward to the trip next Wed.
and FYI, the Chinese Team is staying in the Hilton. make sure you go there "accidentally" and take some pics of Chiense players for us.
If that's the case then I believe all the players are staying at Hilton. According to my reporter friend who's already in Jakarta, everyone's housed in one single official hotel. For security purposes I believe. Apparently even the Indonesians will be staying there.

kwun, I've to borrow a digital camera for mine is a SLR. Maybe if nauknip decides to go, she'll be a better photographer. But of course, HongHong will certainly be there with Silvia and we can relay on her to take her best shots with Lin and Xia!
You are right, nauknip. All players will stay at Hilton hotel. Not only for security purposes, but also closest 5 stars hotel. Bung Karno Stadium is his "backyard".
