Strings for slicing

    Rough thin strings... like BG80, BG66UM, ZM62, VS850

    BG80 for sure, hard feeling string and really gives good feel. My game is all about deception and slicing all over the place, it works perfectly. You will have to adjust the strings more as the strings move more with heavy slices.

    As mentioned above, rough strings are perfect for slicing.
    My favorites are: R4X110 and BG80. :)

    I would put R4X110 above white BG80, but below yellow BG80 (which is the roughest string I have ever encountered).

    It shouldn't!, but it does.

    Now that I come to think of it, blue BG80 is even rougher than the yellow!

    Interesting Mark, I didn't know that, I always buy yellow BG80 string by the reel, I will see if I can get a pack of blue to test out.

    Yes, different colours may have different textures. Just get the roughest one for slicing.

    I like BG 80 Yellow for power, and BG 80 blue/dark blue to almost a purple for control. The blues feel harder, and rougher. The yellow is a bit slicker, but it does deliver more power.

    When you said the blues feel harder, and rougher.

    Does that mean the navy blue / the sky blue?

    Not the sky blue, I think that it is the royal blue or something. Very dark, close to purple.

    Its all subjective, but in my opinion, I think that for the softer cheeses like Brie or Camembert that a thinner gauge string slices much better...usually I'd go with the Zymax 62 or 66..... otherwise the BG66 UM....

    Just kiddin....... LOL !!!!!!!!!!!! :D:)
