may i know if anyone encounter pain after a few matches, than feel sore pain on the achillles...anyone who has experience to solve the pain problem? i felt tight and difficult to walk after a few matches... its back to normal after 2 days...
http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/guide/achilles-tendon-injury?page=2 The above is the standard procedure. But I would add one more step. After finish taking anti-inflammation drug as maybe prescribed by your doctor (usually for a few days), go visit an acupuncture specialist at twice a week for two weeks.
Not concrete floor? Need better cushioned shoes, like Yonex SC series. And of course, stretch before and after games.
Left foot and right hander? Not swollen, just pain? Had the same problem like you a few weeks ago. The doctor measured my feet and recommended custom orthopedics and gave me a pack of anti-inflammatory drugs. I ordered the insoles and popped the pills and since then I don't have any issues like that.
When the pain is there, is it like walking-on-Stilts? ie walk on heels only. Calf muscle very tight. I've experience that usually in the morning after the games. I kept stretching my calf muscle. Just did the calf dip and hold it there. Before games, after games and any time I feel a pain on the achile tendon. It works for me, hopefully for you too.
Stretch it out nicely, it could be Plantar Fasciitis. Go to the doctor if the pain persists. Kindest regards, -Ajay- Quote of the Day I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.
i wonder why only on my right foot? any good shoes design could be offer by yonex or victor to solve my problem. pain gone after 48 hrs after the game.... shoe lack of support or muscular tension problem or maybe i getting old... there only a few around who still using ti10 gen2 like me in this part of the world..
Having suffered through this for more than 10 years, I strongly advice you take this seriously, whether Achilles tendinitis or plantar fascitis. Acute AT needs to be treated properly with mostly rest and strengthening; if not it may mature into chronic stage which is very difficult to overcome (my case, I have to limp off after every session of play ). There is also the matter of midpoint or insertional AT, info available widely on the net. Please get it checked out.
After a few month every shoe cushion and supports gets weaker. If you are wearing the same shoes for more than 1 year, you will get soreness and problems automatically. I replace my shoes and insoles after 200-300 hours depending on shoe type, which is pretty normal. YY wear out faster and are down after 200hours for me.
Thank you for the kind advise. i have many year to come want to enjoy my badminton games until my last drop of strength despite age are catching up...
that was a good hints to change insoles.... i changed string every 3 mths but forgot of the insoles...brilliant ideas...
Do you drive? My right achilles feels sore mostly due to driving. Sometimes I feel it when I play badminton. I use insoles in my shoes, and they probably helped.
If you're looking for long term relief, definitely try to reduce your weight if you're overweight.beyond that, get a good quality curcumin extract. Specifically look for ingredients with the meriva brand of extract. I managed to get a friend's mom off painkillers using hydroxytyrosol (a byproduct of olive oil production) and curcumin extract. She was suffering from plantar fascitis and associated achilles tendon pain due to compensation.
i read up about it because i have the same kind of pain after a short practice session for basketball. basically to stretch. you can stand against a wall with your toes pushed against that wall, and try to stand straight up, that will stretch the muscle on your heel. then the other stretching exercise would be for the calves. i did notice a shortening of the pain/soreness in that area. the earlier you stretch the better.
I bought SHB 87LTD, its solve the problem as for now The tight fit really helps and reduce the pain after the games.
My son has suffered achilles pains due to growing. We tried a lot of things. What really helped to releave the stress on heels is buying silicone heel cups. We have it in regular sports shops here. You should defenately try, they are not expensive.
Best solution for heel pain is stretching and then making sure you don't have tight calves also. Granted wearing the right shoes helps but its bio-mechanical. I have suffered from this but I know plenty of stretching and making sure I'm flexible helps alot. Kindest regards, -Ajay- Quote of the Day Guilt is a rope that wears thin.
