I was playing at new club the other day and saw that they put 2-3 tubes of shuttlecocks (Aeroplane Red) inside the refrigerator with the soda cans. Found it weird but they said that it increases the durability since the temperature during summer is really hot and makes the feathers more brittle. By the way our temperature during summer here is around 36-38 degrees Celsius. Is it really true that temperature affects the durability of the shuttlecock?
Warm weather doesn't decrease the durability, in contrary, in summer Shuttles are much more durable than in winter. The trick with the fridge is that if you take them out, water in the air will condense at the surface of the shuttles (like if you take out a cold can of soda or a bottle of beer, you will see it covered with a film of water after short time). It has a similar effect as steaming shuttles. But be sure not to use the shuttles immediately after taking out of the fridge, because as they are cold, the are brittle. Let the shuttles warm up a little bit and enjoy.
