hey lindanfan,
Although what i'm suggesting may make your shoe look a little less attractive, the method i use to prevent a whole from burning into my left shoe when i drag it is to cut a rectangular piece of athletic tape and cover the hole. Surprisingly, the tape holds up but you may have to change the tape periodically. I started doing this to all my new shoes (yes...i said new) and they have not yet had a hole.. Give it a shot.
Good luck

Hi DinkAlot,
Dang, the hi-tec switchback looks beautiful. The last pair of hi-tec shoes i wore were the adrenalin ultras about 3 years ago (terrific shoe) and i got turned off after they re-designed their whole indoor court shoe line (i think this was after hi-tec was bought out by another company). Hmm..... if you haven't posted a review on the shoe yet, please do. Time for me to look up the price.
Thanks

Agree, good suggestion about the "A-Tape". I used to do that for tennis.

Athletic Tape/Hockey Tape/Medical tape should all do the trick. What's common is that the non-adhesive side feels almost like textured cloth...

1) to patch or strengthen the surface of the shoe that comes in contact with the floor when i drag my non racket foot (let me know if you want pictures, i can attach them later)
2) to tape fingers, especially in sports like basketball and volleyball.. I think it's to avoid blisters (that's what i use it for in badminton).
So i use it for it's "intended" purpose and to patch my shoe up...Good value and it works!
The tape usually comes in rolls (about $5 a roll) and are about 1 inch in width. The most common color is white (most badminton shoes are this color except for the new yonex models).... but i have seen other colors such as purple and black.
here's an example of athletic tape...

It's cheap and carries little risk. If you don't care too much about the looks of your shoes and want to pro-long your shoe life..this is the best option.
i sound like an infomercial.

Some times, on rare occasions, infomercials are good.

Anyway, out of vanity and brainwashing from watching the pros play on TV, I bought a pair of those Yonex SHB-99Limited shoes this afternoon. Yeah, I'm bad. Would it help if I offer an explanation that my old Yonex pair looked a little too "used"?
