he cant find yonex shoes at the shops near him. that is the whole point of him asking. of course it would have been advisable to go to the shop and try on the shoes because different shoes fit differently. i say, if he wants yonex no matter what, then he would have to take some risks and buy shoes online and hope that it fits him perfectly because there have been occurance of people buying yonex shoes online and finds out that the shoes are not really the same size as the other sports shoes available. but if he does not have the budget to take the risk that the shoes he bought online wont fit him, i suggest going to the shops and look for whatever court shoes available (volleyball shoes seems to be quite ok for badminton based on the many threads discussing shoes here in BC) and try them on. that way you will surely get a pair of shoes that will be a good fit. good shoes are essential for badminton.

Just a suggestion:
Try Wilson's range for squash
Squash shoes are designed for rapid stopping, twisting and turning...
...and should be just as good, if not better, for badminton
However, be warned that squash shoes don't add to your jumps

Currently own the SHB 100 Ltd as mentioned earlier.
Caution:
I tied my shoe laces too tight and since the tongue is thinner than the regular edition, I cause a painful bruise on the top of my feet. Now I changed to Easy Laces, a brand of elastic shoe laces with a plastic lock used for running shoes. Now my right foot is still recovering from the bruise, I hope it is not a ballerina fracture =(
