NO NO NO, they are totally different. The sole of indoor soccer shoe is way to stiff for badminton. I am currently playing indoor soccer and badmintion as well, but definitely with different shoes.

Well I just upgraded from my old asics badminton shoes. I just picked up a pair of Yonex SHB99LE's yesterday from my coach for pretty cheap too $120 canadian. Anyways I used them at training and I loved them they feel so good.

I tested a pair of Asics in a shop and bought a pair of Yonex ... I think I don't need to tell you why

I currently have a pair of SOTX badminton shoes. I personally love their rackets, but their shoes are not anything special. They lack support, grip, shock absorbtion, basically a lot of what you look for in badminton shoes. Thinking of going with asics or hi tech next time.

Then you should try a Yonex shoe ... test a few Yonex models and compare them to other brands and you will be convinced, I bet.

I tried a couple of pairs on some time ago, they felt really tight width wise. Do they wear in well in that respect?

Agree, SOTX shoes are marginal in comfort, shock absorption and grip. They are very durable and the sole lasts forever but I would stick with Yonex. So far, they make the best badminton shoe.

I'm using Hi-Tec Tension 2005, to me they seem too flat and too square... I don't really recommend them. However I used to use running trainers till I realised how much I could damage my ankles! So yeah i'm still getting used to the court shoes!
Oops forgot to add, these shoes arn't great if you tend to make holes. As it has a wierd setup for it's laces, so if you make a hole, your pretty much screwed. I really need to buy some duckdape!Last edited by Vomit; 11-14-2006 at 05:44 PM.

using asics and mizuno wave smash 2. more comfy with asics, their "gel" tech really works wonders. mizuno's appearance looks more cooler though.

if you can afford go for yonex - IMHO best shoes on the market, obv the more you pay the better shoes you get, since my shb99's i have started to play a lot better, because they are comfy, they have improved my footwork loads - which is why shoes are so important, footwork plays a huge part in Badminton, the better footwear you have, the better your footwork and game will get
