OCCUPATION: New grad from SFU (haha smashingbird goodluck ), now working as software developer. BADMINTON SKILL: Beginner/Semi-Intermediate. (or according to SmashingBird's scale, then it's ultra low beginner can't hit anything n00b to the max) HISTORY: Started playing a couple of years ago with co-workers for fun and liked it ever since. However, I only play, on average, once a week back then and thus it wasn't serious stuff. I finally started taking lessons last year, and met some badminton forum members in the process. I still remember the first lesson that I signed up for: it was with Darryl at Dunbar Community Centre. It's where I first saw Timeless. (I didn't know he was timeless, only found out afterwards in a VRC meet) Then I believe I met Seot at Churchill, and SmashingBird at the church down in steveston. BC/BF/BR Forgot, but probably researching on racquets. Btw, if you know anyone selling a Ti-7 Light, lemme know, I am looking for a backup. Other Interests Cars....but don't have enough money to buy yet! Next Goal Own SmashingBird Other Notes -What is TTT? I just typed in whatever for the username. Later I found out it's an acronym that stands for "To The Top" that ppl use on message boards to bump a thread to the top of the page. For me right now, TTT stands for "To The Top" of badminton rankings! -OMG I finally did end to end clears yesterday. Sweet... -I believe all BFs that I played with have experienced my ultimate deception shot of smash-but-oops-hit-the-frame-and-its-a-drop. Even I was deceived and thought it was gonna be a smash...
Not me, Mr. T! We gotta get some games going together sometime soon. Glad to have made your acqaintance and know more about you. You doing regular drop-ins at VRC Saturdays now?
haaha...yup, we should play and you'll see! Yes, I think I'll pretty much be regularly at VRC on saturdays nights/sunday morning.
Hahaha is that Sunday morning as in our usual Saturday play-till-we-drop to 2AM? Or do you actually come back Sunday morning?! BTW, you're getting better all the time. Especially now that you're getting proper training and coming out more to play. Just this past Saturday I was thinking, "Hmmm he's improving every week now". To The Top in no time bro!
I surely got a taste of that, but if u can do it ofen and effectively, hey, that's ur special weapon. You are newbie, come on... How I am goiing to rank myself then?
haha...it's the play till we drop to 2AM. The rest of the sunday morning is pretty much unconscious... I'll practice those drives that you showed me . I heard SmashingBird might come on Sat...I'll be aiming higher at his face.
haha...it's a special weapon that I don't really want that much. haha...I dunno how you are going to rank yourself, but I'm sure it's higher than me. Still got lots to improve on!
yahahaa....when it worked that is!...chances of it backfiring is too high oh btw, my SFU convo is on June 3 at 2:30pm. Come and take a pic if any of you guys are free!
SFU convo. convo? is that the graduation ceremony? It is hours of waiting. Tell them to send you the documents. Play badminton instead.
HAhahaha, are you kidding, its those once in a lifetime thing I will be at school that day, so I will probably see you there.
I understand TTT's office is quite close to C1 and participating a badminton training course during his lunch hour ;-) Congratulation to your graduation. Travelling from Richmond to SFU is a bit too far to me, so, hope you have a good time on your convo day.
That's great! Too bad there aren't any dropins for the gym on that day or else I'll play a bit...haha..with a regalia on... PS: There are usually a lot of hot girls in nice looking clothes during convo. You can ask them if they play badminton...
Thanks! ahh....The real world....wouldn't it be nice if this was just The Matrix. I mean, they can just load in some badminton program into me and then I wake up in a couple of seconds and say "I know how to jump smash".
Thanks Marky! Yup, it's a rush during lunch hour! Have to play and then eat fast afterwards. It's only once a week though. That way, there is less stress on my stomach and my wallet!
Hi TTT, I'm a graduate of SFU too!! ^^ Congratz! but now i moved to Tokyo already...I bought a TI-7 Light here btw....it was more expensive and looks different than those u find in canada...but i dun think u can find them anymore rite?
Sweet.. a fellow SFU and Ti-7 Light owner!! Man...the racquet is expensive here. Even though if I found one selling here, I probably won't be getting it since it's so expensive (like $250). I got mine in HK (it's the SP version), so probably I'll get one from HK instead. I was gonna keep my current one for collection purposes, but I couldn't stand the temptation and used it. Now, I'm actually looking for two. One for backup, and a mint one for collection. Ya, I believe it's hard to find it these days since it's a relatively old model. The one you have in Tokyo is different than the one in canada?? Can you post a pic?
