What is the fastest mile run you can do?

Mine is around 8 minute a mile. Planning to improve to 7.

I never just ran 1 mile but my tracking app tells me my fastest time during my runs was 7:01. So I might be able to go down to a low 6 minute time.

    It was pretty painful!

I can comfortably hit 6:45 or even 6:30.

Once it gets below that it takes a lot of effort.

Depends if you mean multiple miles or just one. A single mile, my best was down around 5. Multiple it's closer to 7. But right now I'd be happy with a 10 minute mile pace for 5k. Haha

hard to say. my personal experience is that it does help endurance, but not much in terms of leg strength.

running is one direction only (forward) while badminton footwork is not.

and unless you do track sprinting, running is mostly aerobic (even when running fast) but badminton movement is more anaerobic sprints.

if you want fast badminton footwork, train with specificity, which means do footwork drills.

It definetaly helps for overall cardiovascular fitness.
I see good running (which I'm far away from) as kind of foundation skill. You don't get fast feet on court by just running fast 5 miles. But you build a solid foundation (in terms of work capacity) on which you can train to become faster on court.
So there is def a correlation between good footwork and endurance on court and your mile-time, but certainly not a direct one-to-one relationship.
The same holds true for e.g. weight-lifting skills. Clean&Jerking 200lbs will not make you a fast and explosive badminton player, but chances are good that an athlete who can C&J well, will have some kind of transfer to badminton.
The goal is to become a well rounded athlete as some kind of base which you can build on. This will help prevent injury and over-exhaustion as well.

But to be honest: Badminton specific skills have to be acquired on top.

    1 mile = 1.60934 kilometer

I never run 1 mile but my personal best for 1.5 km race is about 5 mins 11 secs, hence I believe adding another 110 meter should add another 25 secs to my timing.

Probably, my timing will be around 5 mins 36 secs for 1 mile race.

I'd love to know that. Especially the runners of the game who never seem to stop on court, I bet they do a lot of running to keep their fitness high. They'd comfortable be able to do a 5 minute mile.

Just started running again. Gps watch says 7:12 for fastest mile. As part of a 5k. I'll aim for under 6 on a 3k.

Cheung has a 12ft arm span so doesn't need to move his feet.
