Are there any stringers out there who know how to sting badminton rackets? I recentely bought a tennis/Badminton stringing machine combo, and I want to learn how to string my badminton racket at least!

I've read that there are various stringing patterns, what's the stringing pattern for an Yonex MP racket....since i own a MP 77. Is there a site or book where i can find these patterns?

Do a search on the equipment forum, on how to string a racquet and on Yonex stringing pattern, the latter appearing not so long ago.

    1. There are various websites showing how to string a racket. Even though, most of using tennis racket as example, but the conversion is fairly simple.

    2. Read the user guide come with the the machine.

    3. Ask friends (who does string)/local stringers for advice and hints.

Does it take long to learn? and is it required to have that big machine to do the tensioning?

It all depends on you and/or the fellow teaching you. It could take just 30 minutes or even years. If you are inquisitive by nature and do not swallow everything an experienced stringer teaches you without first reasoning everthing out yourself, then you can learn it in 30 minutes. You also do not need a big machine to do tensioning.
May I suggest you visit a few stores where they string badminton racquets and do some observations, take notes, ask why, why, why do they do it this way or that way, and why not this way. Never accept any answer that says this is how it has been done. Always find out why and why not? By the way, some of the stringing practices done by the stores can also be challenged.

Anyone know how to string a badminton racket? I have a tennis/badminton stringer combo but the manuel only talks about stringing tennis rackets. :(
But it does say tennis/BADMINTON combo for some reason....

So is it the same, stringing badminton and tennis rackets??? How do I apply tension and pull the strings and all?

    Any Tips?

...I have a MP 77 if that helps any :)

Looks like you do not have a stringing machine, judging from your question on tension and pulling of the strings. If you buy a badminton only stringing machine, which is smaller and lighter than the universal type for tennis and all sundry, the manual will have stringing instructions.

    1. If u using a drop weight machine, make sure u have the badminton "weight", which is generally smaller than the tennis weight.

    2. Make sure u have the chart of tension conversion.

    3. Make sure u have the proper badminton clamps.

    4. The majority of the methods between baddy and tennis racket are same. U can get Yonex 22x22 string pattern from www.klipperusa.com. Make sure tennis racket starts with throat (hole there), baddy starts with top.

    5. Start practice with junk racket + junk string + low tension (18-20, etc). Never use a US$150 racket for the 1st demo run.
