Like to set up a game plan and go over strategy? How much time do you allocate to communicate with each before you play?
Time for communication: A nod of the head if we already know each other. Brief introduction if we don't. Then my strategy is "don't get my racket broke"'
You mean with a new partner just for a training match? I just start playing and tactical adjustments are made on the run. But I must admit that 99% of the time I play with people in my club that have the same basic understanding of how doubles should be played. Competition-wise, it's a different story. With my regular partner, we take quite a lot of time to talk about certain situations/tactics/strategies. But again, this is minor stuff, as we of course know what we're good at and what we should avoid...
