No, this one is GP only with a prize money of USD50K. The earlier one is GP Gold with prize money USD200K.

For this GP, CHN is absent, don't understand why CBA didn't enrol their 2nd stringers and juniors even though it overlaps the DEN Open PSS for their top/upper echelon players. I mean CBA has the resources, Taiwan is just across the straits, and CHN have many provincial level coaches available to accompany the contingent.

Guangzhou should have its own GP Gold or GP event. Coming up with $200,000 in prize money should not be a big problem for Guangzhou. I don't know why China only has one GP/GP Gold event, whilst Chinese Taipei got two.

Well compared to Yonex Denmark Open which also kicks off this week, this tournament is less famous. However, after looking at the draw of the tournament, I felt that we also have good and uprising players playing in this tournament. Highly noted is this tournament is full with good and uprising Taiwanese badminton players. Good luck to all the badminton players.

Also noted for this tournament is there will be youngsters from Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia. And Taiwan participating in this tournament. Well I will be watching all the matches live to see who will emerge as the champion of this tournament. I believe that Japanese players have a bright chance to shine in this tournament.

The same case also will happen next month, HKG SS schedule clashes with SCO GP. The GP level tournament is appropriated for upcoming, second stringers players to upgrade their world ranking as it's really hard to do in top tier tourneys against world's bests.

And the tournament has already started. Here goes the result from court 3 whereby Simon Santoso had an easy win over Lee Hock Lai. Then at court 4 Sukamta Evert also won against Derek Wong. At court 5 Nguyen Tien Minh also won against Yang Chih Hsun.

Then surprise, surprise at court 1. Imagine it Liu Wei Chi just win the first set of the match against Sameer Verma. Then for the aeocnd and third set he lose narrowly to Sameer Verma. What an unbelievable result. Who is this Liu Wei Chi? Never heard of his name before.

Really a good management from the organiser for using 5 courts for this tournament for save time so that the match will not be draggy and ends late at night. The time for this tournament is also suitable for Asia countries viewer compared to Denmark Open Super Series whose time is completely different from Asia time. So throughout this whole week I will be watching the Yonex Taiwan Open live instead.
