How much advantage does playing at home give?

    Professional level:
Thomas cup - INA were the last team to win the TC in their own backyard. Considering that the last 3 cups were held in MAS, CN and INA you'd expect at least one of these teams to win if home court counted for much.

    Open tournaments:
Home country players seem to do better (most of the time)... or could that just be because the home country usually sends more entries to the competition.

Personally I think I play a lot better when playing local comps in my usual courts. I'm used to the lighting, celing height, shuttle speed etc. But that's just me...

    What do your guys think?

Actually at professional level what affects the most is not lighting, floor or whatsoever ;) .Like SDK-MSN said, its the pressure gave to the "away" team
by the cheering suppoters of the homeground.Cause most likely the court's lighting, flooring would best of the best available. :D :D
