If you mean by all users can create polls, I am pretty sure we will have a tons of polls everyday

How about, setting up user priviliges, so only certain people can create polls?

(For example, user who registered for more than a year.....etc.)

yeah. that's exactly the problem. when we allowed polls, many users went off and created numerous poll that are not very well thought off. littering the forums.

as a result, we disabled the poll function and only mods can create polls.

your second suggestion won't work as that's not quite fair for some users.

so the old decision will stay.

what has changed is that we have swung to the extreme opposite direction. I can count in one hand the total number of badminton-related polls since last year: zero

I see the problem and need from both ends.
Just a suggestion, maybe members with poll ideas submit them to moderators for implementation as per their discretion.

What are you putting in your hand to count? Maybe it's too big to fit in

There are polls around. Didn't you use the search function?

Isn't that what people have been doing before?

The submission is an extra step for screening.

Admin gets all the privilages though..hahaha
