    From football to tennis, from kabaddi to speak takraw; from darts to gilli danda, this chit chat thread is dedicated to all sports on earth bar badminton.

    While chatting on regular forum threads, a few of us tend to diverge from badminton and have been warned by our mod [MENTION=7]Cheung[/MENTION] not to. So this is the solution.


    Let's pledge to use only this thread to discuss other sports. And if our dear mod, will obligr, we hope he initiates this thread by bringing all other sports posts here from the tournament pages.

    And to one of your earlier comments on the same thread. I have only ever watched Rafa's matches and the 2011 WC final 2nd innings on computer. Luckily the later was high speed and streamed pauselessly.

    Pele in the last 75 years, based on sheer impact and numbers. Dunno much bout Bican. Thankfully he falls beyond the 75 cut-off.

    And I know your reply to my answer. Yes Starc is better than even Akram or Alan Davidson with the white ball. He is easily the ODI GOAT. But he needs to prove himself in real cricket.

    True that,but he is now learning do some destruction with the red ball as well.The Ashes series showed his maturity,,,I guess in one or two years,he will be the GOAT...

    To be the red ball GOAT he will need to average 7+ wickets per test at an average lower than 10.75 and a SR lower than 37. NO CHANCE IN HELL. For him or any other modern bowler.
    Beating Bradman's average is child's play compared to beating Lohmann or Barnes.

    He needs 147 wickets in 10 matches conceding MINUS 231 runs if he has to become GOAT in a year.
    Looks like he will need to petition the ICC to change the laws of cricket before he begins his quest.

    If we speak technically,can you tell where do you find Steyn superior to Starc with red ball?Humbly Speaking,i find Steyn ineffective now......But Starc has a long way to go in test cricket...

    [MENTION=122561]Nine Tailed Fox[/MENTION] Check out Damien Flemings latest tweet, about 3 mins ago. Venting frustration on Starcy's red ball failures contrasted with white ball dominance.
    His List A and T20 numbers are as awesome as his ODI and T20I stats are. And his FC stats are as terrible as his Test stats are. Ishant Sharma is a better red ball bowler infact.
    No wonder at the old age of 26, he is only 22 tests old, in a 5 year old international career.
    Starc is like Bevan (or Jadeja/Yuvraj); awesome with white ball, terrible with red.

    In results. In the 4th column. Ashraful and Sarwan were as good as Tendulkar technically. Chuck the technique. It's a mental game. Only results matter. And technically Staff is definitely among the best lefties around. Which makes his case sadder. A bit like PK in SFs. At 26, he hardly has a long way ahead in Tests either.

    Matthew Sinclair had a better technique than Brendon McCullum.
    Countless more examples.
