Anyone interested in playing with a beginner/intermediate poser? It's hard to find many friends of mine who are serious in improving by regular play... I live near blundell and railway, would prefer to play at west rmd, thompson community centre or steveston....any other places u know of would be welcome... Also, anyone carpool to these areas?? I could use a ride sometimes... and IM DESPERATE
Try Richmond Badminton Club ... Winex West Canada, Smashingbird and various other members have more info. -dave
RBC is closed for the summer (I believe). CF, you might want to hook up with SmashingBird (send him a PM). I'm still out in Victoria during the weekdays and can't actually play during the weekends when I'm back in Richmond. Otherwise, I believe that folks like TTT, Timeless, Gryp, etc all play at VRC on a regular basis (Sat night for example) but if you are a junior (17 and under), you will not get priority on the courts.
Why do you join a group lesson clearone? You'll learn something from it and also you'll meet fellow badminton players that want to improve (or else they wouldn't be there anyways right??)
Since you want to improve, you may need to practice continously for 15 to 30mins. It will be ideal for you to find someone who rent courts (in richmond) to play every week. I play at VRC. If you want, I can give you a ride there. The drop-in is 10 dollars. There are some rules regarding drop-in. In clearone, you will meet a lot of young players. I think Clearone is a good choice for you.
There are many places to play in Richmond, but none really consists of any trainning. 15-30min/week is a lot, how long do you train right now?
"15-30min/week is a lot" <------ A lot?! ... SmashingBird & Schrodinger... Am I missing something here?
We used to take private lessons for 2 hours in H.K. We have a group of two and the coach. One player do the drills first for five to ten minutes while the other pick up and stack birdies for the coach. Then we switch and the cycle repeats itself.
different standards, we are talking about beginnger and pro here, is like saying a grade 1 doing 3 hrs of hwk, you would never see that, in comparsion, gr.12 averages 3 hrs of hwk a day. Gr.1 doing 3 hrs of hwk is A lot, while the gr.12 is just standard.
