Hi everyone, Today I was supposed to be revising for university exams, however I've done very little work, the reason being that I discovered this site. Having spent hours reading what people have to say about the sport, I thought I should sign on myself, and here is a bit of information about me: I started playing at age 9, but didn't take badminton seriously until i was 15. The first world-class event I saw was the 1999 All England, where I managed to get on on TV thanks to my, er, enthusiastic support of England's Simon Archer and Jo Goode. These days I'd describe myself as a dedicated badminton fan, and my playing standard has improved, I play for my university team. In the future I'd like to improve more, as well as travel to one of the major badminton-playing nations, just to see how different it is to England! Jono
Welcome Jonno! I am also looking to revise for my finals, but find my self clicking the new posts button constantly! I was doing alright this afternoon, I worked for 10minutes straight. The only way to improve is to train! I also reccomend visiting a major badminton playing country, I did, and will be living in one as soon as I finish these damn exams!
Actually your article about the tournament in China (http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=14922) was one of the first I read. Very interesting, and well done for your success on court. That is actually just the sort of thing I'd like to do. I assume China is where you intend to live after uni?
if you guys wants to focus on you study. let me know, i can temporarily ban you from the forum until your exams are over. just ask, exams is more important than badminton!
Hmmm.... exams more important than badminton? I suppose I'll have to say yes I agree. Maybe I won't be seen too regularly on here for the first three weeks.
haha. i hesitated a bit when i wrote that also. my passion tell me, let's go play badminton. but the sensible side of me (or whatever that's left of it) tell me that, hey, real job and studying is more important! come visit us on study breaks.
That's kwun's brotherly way of saying that you can play badminton at any time in your life, but you will only do the exams that could determine your future once. Priorities.
Yes, at least in the short term (less than 3years). But you never know! Priorities, I have them, and Badminton always comes first. Period. I have only got 5 hours of exams left now, then am doomed for serious work for the rest of my life. What do you study Jonno? what subject?Year?
Good choice of priorities! I'm in my first year, doing Maths and Management. Best of luck for your last 5 hours. Jono
Well, howdy there Jon. Good to see you around and thanks for reminding me about this site a few weeks ago. The last time I posted was over a year ago. That was probably when I decided badders was too much hard work for an old man like myself. See ya at club tonight. Cheers, Wayne
