Kwun, can you make the following polls for me so that we can see who are considered favorites for gold?

I delibaretely tried to list only the most likely title candidates.

    -----

    Men singles:
    - Lin Dan
    - Peter Gade
    - Taufik Hidayat
    - Wong Choong Hann
    - Sony Dwi Kuncoro
    - Xia Xuanze
    - Chen Hong (or is Bao Chunlai going?)
    - Lee Hyun Ill

(this is my main list of candidates, I picked the most obvious title candidates, leaving out Ronald Susilo, Boonsak Ponsana, Kenneth Jonassen, Lee Chong Wei, Park
    Tae Sang, Hafiz, etc.)

    Ladies singles:
    - Gong Ruina
    - Zhang Ning
    - Zhou Mi (or will Xie Xingfang go?)
    - Mia Audina
    - Camilla Martin

    Women doubles:
    Huang/Gao
    Yang/Zhang
    Ra/Lee

    Mixed doubles:
    Kim/Ra
    Zhang/Gao

    Men doubles:
    - Cai/Fu
    - Budiarto/Haryanto
    - Kim/Ha
    - Rasmussen/Paaske
    - Choong/Lee

Thanks in advance for making the polls!

    - Mark.

Could there not be a few more candidates for the Mixed doubles? Zhang and Gao lost to Tsai and Cheng of Chinese Taipei in the All-England this year, and there are several other pairs who I think can reach the final:

    Widianto/Marissa (Indonesia)
    Rasmussen/Olsen (Denmark)
    Kim/Lee (Korea)
    Robertson/Emms (England)
    Chen/Zhao (China)
    and maybe Prapakamol/Thungthongkam (Thailand)

I second all pairs stated above. They all have been doing relatively well.

Chen/Zhao wont get a medal, they are a class below all the other pairs.

    Kim/ra are heavy favourites.

All the rest are fighting for medals, and will be very open.

Watch out for the Thais!! They have been very impressive lately and has the ability to upset the formbook especially if Kim/Ra slips up. ;)

    Mixed

Okay okay just to make the poll more interesting, we can add a few more names to the mixed doubles, although I still believe the pairs I listed are the only real candidates for gold.

Well I'm backing Robertson/Emms as soon as the poll goes up. I'll fly the English flag on here (perhaps foolishly, but you never know!!).

The mens doubles is the hardest to call what about the world no5 and AE winners Eriksen /Lundgard, or the World bronze medallists Sang/Zheng or even Clark Robertson who have beaten almost all the pairs on the list :)

Eriksen/lundgaard are very inconsisten but they do have the ability to win the gold medal. What about Lee/Yoo they are also quite impressive in big tournaments..

I guess we know who you're voting for Honghong, and at the moment I'd vote the same way.

The Mens doubles has so many potential winners. Listed in this thread so far:

    Cai/Fu (China)
    Budiarto/Haryanto (Indonesia)
    Kim/Ha (Korea)
    Rasmussen/Paaske (Denmark)
    Choong/Lee (Malaysia)
    Flandi/Eng (Indonesia)
    Luluk/Alven (Indonesia)
    Eriksen/Lundgaard (Denmark)
    Sang/Zheng (China)
    Lee/Yoo (Korea)
    Robertson/Clark (England)
...a total of 11 pairs who could possibly win the title. Should be an interesting event.

Based on the performance in TC, Robertson/Clark got to be in the list. They were the only team that gave Rasmussen/Paaske a tough time in TC, and they even beated Rasmussen/Passke in European Championship. Very nice job - Rexy - One of my favorite double players.

    MEN SINGLES :
    1. LIN DAN :) (of course !!!) :)
    2. XIA XUANZE
    3. BAO CHUNLAI
(I don't know who will be sent to the olympics, till now I am just sure one of Chinese, i.e. LIN DAN. The others (Bao Chunlai, Chen Hong, Xia Xuanze) ????)

    LADIES SINGLES :
    1. GONG RUINA
    2. ZHANG NING
    3. ZHOU MI or XIE XINGFANG (which player will be sent ???)
    4. MIA AUDINA (May be :) )

    MEN DOUBLES :
    1. CAI YUN/FU HAIFENG
    2. LARS PAASKE/ JONAS RASMUSSEN (the big opponents for CAI/FU, I hope CAI FU will win, Jia You !!!!):)
    3. SANG YANG/ZHENG BO
    4. KIM DONG MOON/HA TAE KWON
    5. JENS ERIKSSEN/MARTIN LUNDGAARD HANSEN
    6. FLANDI/ENG HIAN ??? (I am not sure coz of their performance in last TU FINAL)

    WOMEN DOUBLES :
    1. GAO LING/HUANG SUI
    2. YANG WEI?ZHANG JIEWEN
    3. WEI YILI/ZHAO TING TING
    4. RA KYUNG MIN/LEE KYUNG WON

    MIXED DOUBLES :
    1. ZHANG JUN/GAO LING (I hope, although it will be a big problem for them if they meet Kim/Ra)
    2. KIM DONG MOON/RA KYUNG MIN

I think it is very possibel for China to take all the golds. It is becoz of tehir performance during the last 12 months, especially in all of four numbers (beside mixed Doubles) they have a really great chance. Of course, I want China win the golds, but let we see.
Wo Ai ZHONG GUO. Zhong Guo Dui Jia YOU !!! :)

I add Taufik Hidayat (INDONESIA), if he plays well it will be a difficult one for almost of Chinese player.
