JR, who's teaching the strokes in the Danish team now? is it still Lin? i noticed Peter Gade has a much improved netshot for both fore and backhand, a nice scoop/twirl of the racket head and produces a backward spin that takes all the pace out of the shuttle, very deceptive and tight. do the doubles and singles players share the same strokes coach?
Jens is mostly physical trainer for Peter, mostly known for his cycling programmes for Peter's weak knee. Lin is still training strokes and doing tonnes of feeder drills.
I wouldnt say Jens is fitness, if so then why would a fitness instrutor be giving tactics to Gade during the match intervals?
He did say mostly fitness, not only fitness., he may do other things withhim as well. Plus being Danish he will be able to communicate with Gade. Lin may not be able to fully do this.
agree. and i think Runner23 would know... tried to do that shot today in the gym. it was very tight alright, didn't quite get the tumbling though. will practice more...
Danish coaches!! Steen Pedersen is of course our national coach. Beside him we have two assistant coaches, one youth coach and one chinese technical coach. Jens Meibom and Jan Joergensen have been working with different groups of players primarily. Jan have been focusing on mensdoubles and Jens has been working a lot with the ladiesdoubles. The three coaches Steen, Jan and Jens work close together with all the players on the Brondby training so they have contact with all the players and know roughly what each player is focusing on. Of course with 40 players there they tend to concentrate they energy differently and just talk with the others about those they don´t have so much practical experince with. Our chinese coach Lin is primarily a technic coach, but sometimes he works with our footwork as well. When we go to China he usually goes as well because he knows how things work in china. JR
