https://youtu.be/iK_4yfHaXUE Above is a short clip of a friendly doubles game. They said I touched the net during my net kill with my racket, I personally didn't feel anything and felt it must have been the shuttle. We took the point. It was only briefly discussed for 10 seconds and we moved on but I thought it be interesting if you guys felt whether my racket or the shuttle touched the net, I find it very hard to see with my go pro recording!
The video quality and angle are not sufficient for a definitive decision, but it looks like the net wasn't touched. Also, note the net doesn't bounce at all afterwards.
It was a weak return... you killed it... point over. Anyone who tries to win that point by claiming you touched the net should be ashamed of themselves.
Doesn't look like it, but it's extremely hard to tell. There is a little wobble of the net just after the shuttle is hit, but I can't tell what caused it.
I agree the net moves but I thought it must be the shuttle. Thought it would be interesting to throw it out there. The angle of the video doesn't help much.
TBH I don't think it matters. AT ALL. you had basically won the point the shot before. and it was a reasonably good kill. If you don't think you touched it, they should respect that. You cant tell from the video, the net did move, but it could have been the shuttle or the racket... but its so close, plus can you tell if the shuttle hit the floor before you (if you did) touch the net? its too quick. And anyway for me even if it was a match, or even a tournament i would give the attacker the benefit of the doubt.... they had already lost the point. Its not really worth arguing about. edit Sorry after rereading your post... you did what i would have done... went... mehuh? and then you took the point.
