I have been using Nylons like the Mavis 300's and 350's for quite some time now. Reason for it is because that's really the only thing available here. Lately though I have been playing with Feathers and I quite enjoy them a lot. Very very different compared to Nylon obviously. Everything is starting to come along just fine now like drops, drives nets etc but the one thing that still stands out while playing with Feathers are my smashes. For the most part they are very flat usually making contact right before or behind the service line. Power is not too bad but I would rather go for angle before moving into both power and angle. Any tips or suggestions that I can use? Bigger swing? Shorter swing? More wrist? Thanks.
Angle, Maybe the main reason it travels flat because you hit it flat, try hit it with some degree, a bit facing downwards. you'll hit the net on many occasions, but then you will have a more steeper smash afterwards
Obvious answer is contact point, however check your grip. https://badmintonguide.wordpress.com/2014/03/09/more-power-control-from-your-grip/
