I read in kompas.com, Sony say he won't play in any tournament in 2 months and will focus on healing his injure. And after recovered, he will play in lower level tourney to improve his ranking. Get well soon Sony...

I also wish SDK a speedy recovery.
He is a gentleman on court and he has never thrown tantrums unlike some players. He may disagree with line calls or a referee's decisions but he doesn't argue against them to the extent of being rude.

SDK, get well and play soon as we miss you on court.

today, i watched some of Sony's matches via video and youtube...
i miss Sony so much.... if he can recovery well, and back to his form, i think, he can be a treat for Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei...
when he playes against Chou Tien Chen in Ina Open PSS, he lacked of movement,
his shot making is still very good. but his leg is not good anymore. many times, he can not back to a good position after making any shots.... it makes his opponents has more room to place the shots...
i hope sony can back to his level... i miss him...

Sony is my hero. His 2007 World Championship match with Lin Dan was one of the first videos of international badminton I ever saw. I so admired his composure, his shot making, and his self-effacing manner.

Hopefully he can regain his past glory. But if his injuries are too much for him to return to form, may he forever be a happy man, and teach others to play as well and as gentlemanly as he has.

Yup, he should take part some GP level tourney, his current WR is out of top-100, per 18th August 2011 #115

IMO, slim chance unless he could create huge breakthrough to win many top-tier tourneys in coming months, the deadline is 30th April 2012.

Wishing best luck for SDK! Barring any upset he will face tough test at R/16 VIE GP, Sho Sasaki.
His name is also included for Chinese Taipei GP Gold next month

Hopefully that Sony still can compete for other prestigious tourney in the future.

He was a competitive Men's Single player to many such as Lee Chong Wei. Ever since he got injured his performance dropped drastically and became less competent. Let's see if he could make it to next year's London Olympic 2012. It would be all athlete's dream to be Gold Medalist for their country!

Yeah, it's understandable SDK lost to Sasaki at R/16 of VIE GP. Sho Sasaki has best form lately, often troubling some top-players even knocked out CJ thrice in a row, he's #9 at WR now.
Next month TPE GP Gold, SDK will find 4th seed Hu Yun at R/32, let's see whether he can through or not

It is very sad to see Sony Dwi Kuncoro beaten by Shuhei Hayasaki, an unknown Japanese player, in Round 1 of the Qualifying Draw of the 2011 Yonex Japan Open. SDK was a very good player before he was hit by injuries and it appears that he has not made a complete recovery. It was good to see him reach the semi-final stage of the 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipeh Tournament 2 weeks ago where he was beaten by Tommy Sugiato and it was thought that he was on the bend for good. Those who follow him will recall his winning the 2010 Singapore Open, the 2008 China Masters, the 2008 Indonesian Open, the 2008 Yonex Japan Open and reaching the final of the 2007 World Championship. I wonder whether the loss will so demoralize him that he gives up badminton for good.

I miss him too. I thought he can make a come back. But after several tournament he has not shown a good result. I guess it is really hard after the injury. It just breaking my heart. i really like his play.
