time for a new raquet, well not really but I want a new one Looking at the above 4 raquets. Skill lvl: intermediate but moving up quickly, just need to keep playing Plays: Singles / Doubles / Mixed - I play more offensive then defensive so I'd probably be looking at the off. versions rather then def. Going to hopefully play almost daily or atleast 3/4 times a week at university next year (U Vic) Price isn't an issue that this point, figure if im going to get a new one, going to make it worth while. Any other suggestions re: raquets would be appreciated aswell. Thx
I have a ti-10 3u US, MP-90 2u JP, and an Armortec 800 4u JP. If you say price isn`t an issue, buy all three. They are all very nice.
price isnt an issue for buying 1 of the 4 not all of them lol - narrow it down to 2 mayb... we'll see, certainly not all of them
Well...I haven't tried the Ti10, but I've got the rest along with Ti8, Ti6, and MP77 experience. I've switched from Ti8->Ti6->MP77 (all 2U versions) Then went to MP99->AT800-OF (all 3U versions) Why the switches? Generally because I went thru 2 racquets a year or so and they older models were no longer being carried up here in Canada and I didn't want the SP models. The MP99 were WAY TOO FRAGILE...I think I set the record for breaking 6 racquets in a period of like....5 months? Four of them have been returned as warranty and one rejected..the other is still pending. I personally really liked the feel and power of the MP99...I described myself as an intermediate/semi-advanced player who likes to play in the background and pound my opponents into submission with smashes, drives, quick drops. The MP99 was really good for this...only complaint is the longevity and fragileness of the racquet. I've now switched to AT800-OF and it is definitely more powerful then the MP99...and so far so good on the longevity of the racquet (had it about a month now). If you like mixed/doubles more, then get the AT800. If you like all three, then get MP99....but if you get MP99, I'd suggest the 2U version which was a little more durable for me. As for AT800-OF, get the 3U.
since u r an intermediate (from your profile) player and had broken so many different racket in a short period of time, i would start doubting the stringer instead of the racket itself. I'm using a 3U mp99 for the past 15 mths full time (ie. no switching of racket) and is full of clips from hitting floors and clashes, no prob yet. (ie, no microcrack either)
I think Ti 10 3U version should be pretty well-rounded. I haven't tried the other ones..so I can't say for those. But the Ti 10 3U is: - powerful, should be good for singles because of ease of clearing as well as smashing - light, which is good for doubles play - great control - fairly durable, as my sister has clashed it several times without noticeable damage I'm against the MP lineup..they "seem" fragile. Particularly the MP100 and 77. I'm not too sure about 99s but some ppl here have said they are. Maybe AT's are better?
yes, sounds like its the Ti-10 or the amortech 800... but i'm thinking Ti-10 seems like more people agree on that one. newb question what is the 2U for? Stiffness or weight?
go for mp99!! all around racquet, easy to use, even balanced, bright yellow color, great control & can deliver explosive smashes, suitable for doubles & singles, pretty durable frame i must say.
what??..LOL a Fu HaiFeng fan telling another person to getta MP99 instead of the racket that FHF uses?..lolz u traitor..=p
Why do you guys think that the MP99 is better than the New Ti-10?? For what criteria did you guys choose MP99 over the Ti-10?? Thinking of getting a new racquet, so hope the experts here can haf a bit more on comment on New Ti-10 compare with any other racquet.
If you compare MP99 and Ti-10 (new) both also very stiff. Recently I just brought Ti-10 (new) strung with BG85 23lbs main and 25lbs cross 2 weeks ago I found that power full, good control, good net play and more to defensive side. MP99 more to offensive side.
Mp-99 better than Ti-10? I also have the same dilemma. But it's between Ti-10 and Armortec 700. I was thinking of collecting a new racquet. But it's whether Ti-10 (new) or Armortec 700? The reason is Armotec 700 is the prefered racquet by China's Men's Singles like Lin Dan, BCL etc... And Ti-10 used by FHF, KK and TBH.
I am a Ti10 user and it sure does deliver power, just that the shaft is abit stiff for me, but its an great racket overall.
