Where do you string?

I don`t know how to make this a poll, so here goes.

How many people:

A. String their own rackets.
B. Have a friend that strings.
or
C. Always go to a shop.

shop, although I wouldn't mind learning to string if I ever have the time.

Not many shops perform badminton restringing here in Sydney, but at least I can trust a few friends who can do that (although there are no guarantees as one of my rackets were returned with a slight crack!!!)

Also tried to learn how to restring, maybe it's just my brain capacity or just due to the quick lesson or perhaps even the instructor's way of explaining things, the process seemed quite complex to me...

The cost of a stringing machine is too high..otherwise..i'd be stringing too. Sure it may take a lot of time, but it's something I'd like to try.

If u just re-string racket like 2-3 times per yr, the string machine might be an expensive investment.

If u r a hard hitter, and require re-string at least once a month, u might consider a lower end string machine, as it will save in a long run. If u can collect a little bit "business" within the local club(s), u can turn it into some profit within 1-2 yrs period.

What I'd like to is use BG 68 Ti...that is a nice string.

My sister also plays..so I can restring her racket as well.

$500 for a stringing machine...my parents won't let me get anything that expensive..even though I'm making money..

Yes I'm a hard hitter..so I should be sticking to BG65..which I have been.

I can try getting business..but I'm not about to compete against the local stores. Just not happening.

Recently trying a store, mainly for tennis, can also use the Babolat Sensor electronic machine for badminton stringing.

Good tension hold.

1. Not sure about CAN market, in US, decent 2-point drop weight machine is only US$100-200 range.

2. I am not talking about open business and string like 10+ racket per day like those pro shops. My side business is about 2-3 rackets per week from local club members.

Haven't voted because I do B and C.
C if I'm in a hurry, but B otherwise as it is cheaper.

Intend to do A, but am struggling to choose a machine.

Lol...

I think B is meant to be cheaper price + convenience. If ur friend gives ur the above, choose B. Otherwise, put C and try to find "better friends".

I always go to the store, i feel uncomfortable having someone string my racket at 27lbs. And i rarely restring, well maybe 4-5 times per year maybe? Just a guess. Though learning to string on your own has its own merits. I would probably end up using thinner strings and end up losing more money to stringing though
