    Sorry guys but I really need help...

    I had an e-mail recently and this sentence was written: Dress code for National Selections is smart casual (skirt, pants, cropped pants etc...)

    I wonder what does smart casual mean in this case ande what cropped pants is???

    IF you guys could help me I'd be verry happy...

    Cropped pants are probably those pants or trousers that are longer than shorts, and shorter than normal length trousers. They are sometimes called 3/4 length trousers...

    smart casual is usually just a rung below formal. so you don't need to wear a suit and tie, but you cannot wear jeans either.

    usually means khaki pants or slacks on bottom, and then a decent looking shirt on top. optional would be a smart looking tie.

    smart casual sounds a few steps up up from casual but also a few steps below business casual. I guess khakis (not baggy) and a shirt in a solid or patterned style is what they mean.
