    It is Margaret Thatcher and a young John Major...





    Actually it is Betty Uber, of Uber cup fame. The man is Donald Hume. Together they won 4 All England titles consecutively. In total she won 8 AE mixed titles, 7 in a row, 4 ladies doubles and 1 singles. She also was a former junior Wimbledon champion.

    Ms. Uber's outfit may do ok if she walks into a badminton gym today. but Mr. Humes, my goodness, those long socks and striped jacket is just out of this world!

    but so glad to finally see the picture of the famous Ms. Uber who generously donated the Uber Cup for the women's team championship. it is a very pretty cup with a globe. somehow looks very feminine when placed next to the Thomas Cup.
