Does anybody have any comment on RSL's new product RSL4900? I intend to buy one. This racket can string up to 28 lb.

    RSL Rackets

I have been using RSL rackets for years which I buy from the sole distributor in Malaysia. I know the boss, Danny personally. Yes, the racket tension can go up to 28lb as Danny would allow all the new ranges to be tested. personally, I go for 26 to 27 lb. However, if you play doubles, be careful not to clash racket with your partner as with such a high tension the racket would crack.

Thanks for your information. I trust your information as you know the RSL boss. By the way, do you know where is the distributor in Hong Kong where I can buy the RSL4000 with the best price?

I am sorry I do not know where you can get the racket in HK. But I shall find out from RSL when I return to malaysia next week. I am currently on work assignment in Guangzhou.

What kind of string most recommended for this racket?

Yonex string (e.g. BG68Ti) or RSL string (which type?)

you can check out their distributor in hk here. as for the 4900 just look at it this way. if u decide to buy the 4900, you'll be getting a high end racket at a reasonable price. buy a yonex at the same price, and you'll only be able to buy a lower end yonex racket. rsl rackets are very good. really a value for money. as for the durability, clashed my rsl twice and not a scratch, not even a dent. another good thing is that you can experiment with higher tensions without the stringer making you sign a waiver in case the racket breaks. you can also try their 3200 model. cheaper but just as good. as for the strings, i also use rsl's ti650. great control and power. makes a very cool metallic, whipping sound too.:)

I have concerned about the durability. Is the RSL racket easily broken? How long have the racket been used and how frequent is it used, say how many hour per week on average?

Sorry I misunderstood your previous message that it was "broken" twice instead of "clash" only.

I have already ordered one RSL4900.

Wow. Just surf the net and some stores in Asia are selling RSL 4900 only 1/4 of the price of MP100 and MP99. Too bad, it's not available here in North America. Got to try it out when I go to Hong Kong this Sep.

Hehehaha, do you mind tell me how much is yours and where did you buy it?

    Rsl4900

I bought it in HK at HK$530 (including string BG68Ti). This is equivalent to aroung US$68.

US$68 is still cheap, only about 1/3 of MP100 or MP99. Is it available in any major sport stores like the ones in Monkok?

RSL racket is not as popular as YY. You may not find the racket immediately available even in some major sport stores. I have sent you a PM where I bought this racket.
