Thomas Cup will be difficult for China.

Indonesia has the strongest doubles man in the world, they can have two pair:
Tony/Halim and Chandra/Sigit, and I don't think any doble in China or the world can beat the Indo double.

Since there are 3 single and 2 doubles matches in Thomas Cup, Indonesia only need to steal one single, which shouldn't be too hard. Hence the Thomas Cup for next year still goes to Indonesia.

But for Uber Cup, China is unbeaten.

No country in the world can beat BOTH Indon pairs in the same tie. Absolutely NONE.

Hell, I feel like a bug for starting this nonsense, to quote Birdbrain.

Take a look at last Worldchampionships in 1999 at Denmark.

Not only the men's single, expecially the men's double side.

If you capable, analyse the results, please, instead of just slogans

this is not a slogan, it is a concise way of saying that between now & the next Thomas Cup, anything can happen & what Tony Halim said may not be true.
it has nothing to do with capability & the World C'ship of 1999..........

it is precisely in that context that i made the statement

yes, one year is a long time in badminton.

By then, there will be more tony's and chandra's that will be impossible to beat the Indo men double.

Since Rexy/Ricky pair, the men double has been dominated by the Indonesian.

I think MD in the recent years has been a fight between the Koreans and Indonesians. Remember Korea took 1-2 at the 99 World Championships, although there is a rather obvious disparity between Kim/Ha and Lee/Yoo. With Kim making a comeback after his 5 mth break and the new Indonesian pairings, this WC will be a good one to watch.

Wrt more Candras and Tonys being produced, I'm less sure of that. It seems that the Indonesians are rather keen on squeezing their players to the very last drop of blood/sweat rather than bring in younger ones. I mentioned in another mail that by Athens 2004, Candra, Tony, Sigit and Halim will be 29, 29, 28 and 28 respectively. Is that a bit too old, considering that Ricky Subagja started bombing out at around that age?

Korea has a Chung Jae Sung, who played at the Asia Cup as a replacement for Lee DS. Only 19 this year and still very raw but already gaining valuable experience, albeit as a reserve. Of course, it's anybody's guess as to whether he'll make it eventually but my point is that Indonesia doesn't seem to be bringing on the youngsters.

Sorry, don't understand. And if that is anything less than a compliment, let me just clarify that I've been a supporter of Indonesian badminton for the past 7 years. I'm just trying to look at things more objectively.

Adel, don't be embarassed, David is a dork!

I'm from the US,so this is a rough translation:

    Tutup mulut=shut up
cerewat sekali sih ini anak=this person talks too much
nyelin banget deh=(really I can't translate this one literally, but it means something like "I don't like to hear this talk"

So, anyhow, Adel, you should not be the one apologizing

That's ok, Knock-out. In all honesty, I guessed as much but I wasn't about to say sth like say, "You dork! So you think you can trick me with an artificial translation?"

Sigh... if I had a lot more time on my hands, I would have picked up an Indonesian-English dictionary and flipped thru it to see what da hell you were actually saying. But as it is, I feel even dorks should be given the benefit of the doubt =P

Btw, do you know what Imposter called you?
