Mandarin Club Hi there I've just moved to the area, and was thinking about going along. Is there specific nights that are for doubles play that anyone can join in? Is there a guest fee?
Member Hey Doh, did not realise that you had to have a member sign you in. Anyone willing to sign me in?
yeah, u have to have a member sign you in there are no nights desginated at "doubles night" but pretty much every night is doubles night... because it is rude to take up a court and play singles if there are ppl waiting.... and the guest fee is 10.70 after tax
i've played there a few times, but never signed up as a member. actually i'm somewhat glad i didn't too. it just doesn't seem to have a very positive club atmosphere, and the actual play is in fact quite disorganized (since pretty much every night is play with whoever wants to play with you, and play only on the courts not already taken up by training, which seems to go on continuously at any point that mandarin has it's lights on).
hi, don't wanan sound like a noob or something, but where is this mandarin located? could anyone tell me? a website or a pm or anything would be appreciated.. thanks alot
Hmmm...so it i training everyday? I'm thinking of going to train at the mandarin...is it better than Lees?
I wouldn't say it's better, yet I wouldn't say it's worse. Every club has a different way of training. It's basically what suits your personality. If you're not ultra competitive and just wanna learn to improve your skills, you should come to Mandarin. It's more of a friendly environment and there's lots of social activities like dinners and lil functions for certain holidays. Every club's training style if different and I guess it depends on your personality and what aspect you want to focus on.
