Hi - trying to get some help here. Searched thru the forum and a similar post but way back in 2001.

Will be attending a company conference in Bangkok next month. A colleague from US emailed me and ask about the Yonex prices there (he is aware of the TH version sold). I understand that it is cheaper compared to prices in S'pore - is it correct? If so, generally by how much? Any recommended shops? I read about the one at WTC, is it still there? Anywhere else?

Anyone out there who can help? If it is not too worthwhile, my colleague is planning to detour to Singapore to get them. Thx much.

The yonex store at the WTC is still there. the price of rackets there are MUCH cheaper compared to singapore and HK..the only difference of TH rackets from others are the BAG it comes in(other rackets come in leather embroiderd bag where as TH rackets come in synthetic leather.) and the paint job is not that clean/nice compared to SP's. But thats just about the only diff.), if you ask me..they are all made in JAPAN!
the last time I bought a racket from them was 5 months ago and the MP99 sells for 4,400bhat (US$107). i guess its much cheaper now because newer rackets are being sold. the AT700 was 4,800 bhat. In singapore i guess you'll be paying extra US$20 for the same racket. When i broke my 99 while playing, i emailed them asking them if they could replace it thru warranty and they denied my request but gave me a 50% discount on a replacement racket. NOT BAD! if your lucky enough you could get package deals..1 racket, towel, bag, string for the price of a single racket. I said if your lucky, because once those packages go on sale they're very hard to come by. Nationwide sale in thailand goes on from June to July...so you might still get some good prices from yonex WTC while you're there. Filpinos are notorious in bangkok, specially at the yonex store. they buy lots of rackets there (usually 10pcs of each racket model per person..and there just tourists!)...because in manila an MP99 and other popular models of yonex sells twice as much. There are a lot of TH rackets here in manila!
    hope this helped.

You can get TH rackets right here in Singapore.
Check out bras basah.. if you look hard, some MP99 are TH and they are asking for a lot less than SP rackets.

Oh! you know Siam Square, do you?
That makes very easy to go to The National Stadium.
From Siam Square, walk along Rama I Road, pass Siam Discovery, MBK Center and then you will find The National Stadium.
You have to walk pass The National Stadium and turn left at the first lane you meet. There are many shops there.
    Do enjoy your shoping!!! :D

P.S. For your information, only 1-2 shops accept credit card.
    ;)

Try the FBT building near Ramkhamhaeng University. They are the official importers for Yonex and are maybe 20% cheaper than other shops. I got an AT700 for about $100. They have loads of cheap sports equipment in there.

Thank Pingo, however, FBT has his branch by the stadium too.

For Taxi, ---> "SA NAM SUP PA CHA LA SAI" or in short "SA NAM SUP"

or tell him MBK CENTER, SIAM SQUARE and then go there by walking

confirm you that it's not too far.

I have a friend who sells rackets. All brands. let me know which one you are looking for. You budget and i may be able to help you. In BKK, may have lots of fakes.

The stores in the National Stadium don't sell fake Yonexes, if that's what you're looking for. For Winex, they seem to have only Thai models (local).

They have RSL Tourney No. 1 for roughly 5xx baht per tube at speed 75. They also have RSL Official and RSL Silver, so those should be cheaper.
