Let's say IBF ruling allows 2 players from different countries to pair up in a tournament.
Which two players, in your opinion, will make the "ideal" pairing?
IMO, Tony Gunawan and Kim Dong Moon will make an awesome pair.
Tony will probably play more of a set-up role and Kim play more of the attacker's role.

  2. but still if you can have tony/candra vs tony/kim, tony/candra will still win.

If nothing else, it'll be coz Kim and Tony won't be able to communicate with each other. It's like getting a chicken to talk to a duck (ji tong ya jiang, in Chinese). =)

If fighting only men's double with ET, as the head coach of the earth, I will pair Chen Hong with Peter Gade. Single players should be much more talented than double players.

Chickens and ducks don't grunt. They cackle and quack respectively. Or are you referring to Kim and Tony?

    "Old MacDonald had a farm
    E-I-E-I-O
And on his farm he had some ducks
    E-I-E-I-O..."

Couldn't be better... my liver is on the verge of breaking down, which explains why I didn't offer THAT

    "And a quack2 here, and a quack2 there, here a quack, there a quack, everywhere a quack2..."

Peter-Gade was previously a doubles player. Won the World Junior Champs MD title in 94, if I'm not wrong. And Candra co-incidentally was a singles player before a liver disease put him out.

    Yeah, you're right again.

Great single players can play doubles at highest level too, if they want. After "retiring", last world champion in men's single Sun Jun paired with his wife, became one of the best mixed double in China.

But if those greatest double players played single now, they couldn't pass any first round.

    Re: Best Mix Doubles Combi

I alway wanted to see peter gade and camilla martin playing mix together. Hopefully when they done with singles and want to slow down a bit and play mix. I think denmark can obtain gold or #1 mix with this combination. Media coverage would be high too.

This golden couple played before with Sun Jun couple in China. I believe that Sun Jun and his wife won the match.

Maybe there is some cause for concern. Adel, you are starting to sound like Kelvin on one of his 3:00 a.m. post-bar time, 2500 word discussions, minus the length. :)

Not a tournament, just a commercial exhibition. There were a lot of this kind of in China. Audience went there not for watching the game, but for the super stars.
