Conan I suggest you try the badminton bc web site as it has links to most of the other provincial badminton web sites and if you want to know more go to the badminton Canada website.Good luck.
Conan, Don't know whether you can find out your information through the weblinks of www.badmintonbc.com Wish you good luck!
Hi there, you can try the clubs at the University of Winnipeg and Red River College. There is also a private club - the River club. And as far as I know, there are few community clubs that play almost year around. Good luck.
Thanks for all those information! ALBERT5730, RICHHO, BIGHOOK.. do u have any friends play baddy in there?
sorry Sorry Conan I don't know anybody there.Best of luck though with the winters there I am sure there are lots of players.
Conan; I once played at the Winter Club on River Ave. Great facility, "private", but had to beg to get in. I also think that there's play at the Wildwood Club off Pembina Hwy. Good luck on finding a place. Let us know how you make out. Brian
Here is a link to Manitoba Badminton Assoc. http://www.badminton.mb.ca/ There are clubs scattered all over the province. Give them a call or e-mail.

You can contact Manitoba Badminton Association. Phone: 204-925-5679 or 888-243-0890 e-mail: badminton@shawbiz.ca There are a few private clubs like Winnipeg Winter Club or Wildewood Club. However, there are other cheaper ones like West Wing and a few play out of school gyms.
Places to play in Manitoba The places to play are: 1. Lipsett Hall (mostly B players and a few A players) 2. Winter Club (mostly A players but it is a private club) 3. Wiildewoood club (it is a private club but haven't played there for many yrs) 4. Canoe club (I think the badminton there is closed but not certain) 5. University of Winnipeg and U of Manitoba 6. Some schs such as Maples sch (mostly B, C and D players) I would call the Manitoba Badminton Asso for more info. You can also visit our website at http://www.badmintonrm.com for more info. However, we are located in Brandon, MB which is about 2hrs drive away from Winnipeg. Good luck!
BTW, I used to play at Winnipeg Tournament (95-97). Are Curtis and Christine still palying in Brandon?
Places to Play Badminton in Winnipeg I have a gym membership at the Rady Centre. They don't have permanent courts set up, but if you go there and the gym is empty, which it frequently is outside of school hours, you can set up a court. The only people that play there are me and my friend, who are looking for other players as well. Drop in fee there is about $8.00 I believe. I know as well and the College St. Boniface has the same kind of setup as the Rady Centre, and their drop in is the same price. If you get the leisure guide, there are evenings at certain schools where badminton is set up. This is the best and cheapest route, but it fills up unbelievably fast. I think it's $60 or $80 for 8 or 10 weeks. I missed it last time. I called a week or so after they started taking calls and I was seventh on the waiting list. I would really like to get into a league myself, but I don't think one exists in this city.
a couple ideas Checking the leisure guide is a good idea. There are also drop in programs at schools and community centres around town. The UofW has a badminton club which sounds pretty good although I haven't been there myself. Apparently they do drills and games for about 3 hours. I play at the downtown YMCA on mondays from 8 to 10:30 (used be 7:30 and before that 7:00). There are four courts. Ceiling isn't the greatest adn there are a couple basketball nets that are sometimes in the way. There are some good players though. Lately it hasn't been too busy so there has been some singles games.
