Wuhan City Been to Wuhan. The city is very industrial and is at the cross road of other cities and provinces in China. The best time to visit is from November to April. The summer is simply an inferno. I also enjoy Wuhan Tea Brand at www.wuhantea.com.
You are very familiar the weather in Wuhan. During the summer it can reach a max of 42'C. The best time to visit is Oct.
wow, 42C? what speed of shuttle would you use in that temperature? What is the ground elevation of wuhan area? (ie m above sea level)
good question! we have to change to 77 shuttles during summer but this doesn't help much. I have no idea on the ground elevation
Just arrived in Wuhan... Thanks Nigel... Any assistance by you or others in finding a badminton club in Wuhan for a Australian female who has played since she was 12?
Wuhan Hi Nigel, Good day to u. Currently, I am at Suzhou. Probably one day, I might go to Wuhan. Is there alots of badminton clubs or venues at Wuhan? I have a friend who is formerly from Wuhan but currently residing in Singapore. Thanks for yr helpful advice. Lee
The elevation of the airport runways, according to Google Earth, is 79' above sea level. As for shuttle speed for 42deg Celsius, I was thinking a speed of 0 would be appropriate...as in sitting on the shelf while I sweat in front of the fan waiting for some less insane weather!
That is good news for the players heading there for the World University Badminton Championships. They are to be held in Wuhan from October 10th-15th. There is even a website in English. The top players will all likely be at the Japan Open that week but there could be a good number of second-tier players there. Boonsak Ponsana won the 2004 event in Bangkok and it featured other top players such as Jang Young-soo(KOR), Cheng Shao-Chieh(TPE) and Sudket Prapakamol and Soratja Chansrisukot of Thailand.
