Lin Dan lost to Ronald Susilo and Sigit/Trikush lost to Robert Mateusiak/Michal Logosz (POL), I don't even know who are these Poland players ...
And don't Forget Hongyan .. ='(( This is the OG everything can happen but here ....there's so too many upset ...
Perhaps the biggest upset of the day is Camilla Martin's lost. Has Hallam ever beaten Martin before? Sigit/Trikus were usually taking three games to beat some easy pairs in recent tournaments. So it's not a big surprise for their early exit. Maybe they could have at least lost to Ha/Kim in the next round.
No Martin beat Hallam 5 times before... but I'm not complaining, she was my xd partner in a tournament a long long time ago so I'm very happy for her Go GB
This Olympics is turning out like some of those new movies predicting mass destruction!! Online yesterday to find out Camilla loses. I turn on my TV this morning and find out Susilo beats Lin Dan. Logon to BF and Tikus/Sigit lose... Is it something to do with the ozone layer? Global warming? Any other theories??
Does this mean Kim & Ra will be next? It'll be a real big heartbreaker if it becomes true. Let's see if it affects the Chinese ladies, most likely not.
I think it's the "early rounds" syndrome. The favourites are jittery and the pressure is immense. If half of Lin Dan's slightly-out-balls landed in, the story may have been different. Even Gong Ruina and Zhang Ning does not have it easy. But once they have gone through the storm, they should be at their best now. Meanwhile the underdogs are only too happy to be in the Olympics, so even the first round for them is a bonus. I was watching the men's doubles between Chan-Chew and the Greek pair. It was a washout, but the Greek players and audience were obviously enjoying themselves. It was nice to see.
I guess one way to get you out of your shell is to talk about Kim & Ra! Good to hear from you again even though you hardly spoke!
A lady from Singapore is even sadder than you, I'm sure. That's probably one reason why she's not been posting for sometime now. First, Xia was not even allowed to take part, then now Lin is eliminated. What a double-whammy! But cheer-up you guys who expect Lin to win the Gold, for the ensuing matches are proving to be very exciting! Enjoy! Just goes to show that badminton is not a dull game but one full of surprises. You win some, you lose some.
Hahah Loh.. you are right.. haven't heard from that Lady for a while Well its still everyones game.. LinDan's lost is somesort of a suprise. Now the Msians have higher chances fo winning.
Due to Lin Dan not being around, everyone has a higher chance, but I think the one with the most likelihood of making the semis is Ronald Susilo himself. The only credible opponent in this quarter is Lee Hyun Il who, unless his form changed for the better, is the weakest seed around. I think the Wong Choong Hann-Taufik-Peter Gade quarter is the most difficult.
