I went over to the store at Woodbine and 16th Avenue in Markham yesterday, and noticed that they have quite a lot of rackets there. The Yonex ones are priced quite similar to real Yonex rackets(ex: MP30 for $120 Cdn) but I noticed on the shaft it says "Developed by Yonex Japan" and it *DOES NOT* say "Made in Japan" like all Yonex rackets do. I looked closely at the MP30, and the color scheme seems to be correct, and looks like high quality too.

Of course, I didn't actually buy a racket, as I don't really need one.

Not all Yonex racquets are Made in Japan.
Yonex currently have 3 sites: Japan, Taiwan, and a new site in China.
"Developed by Yonex-Japan" means is made outside Japan.

The racket does not even indicate where it is manufactured. It oughta say where it is manufactured.

It's been like that for years, everytime it's made in Japan then it would just say "Made in Japan", if it's not made in Japan, it would just say "developed in Japan".

In fact, on the Yonex Catalog, they do state which racquet is made in Taiwan, China , and Japan, but just not on the racquet itself.

Check the plastic wrap on the handle. You should find a small gold sticker saying "Made in Taiwan". Most of Yonex low-end racquet models are made in Taiwan and/or China.

I would doubt any stores in Canada would sell fakes.

It's is also a legal requirement in Canada to indicate the country of manufacturer for all goods available for sale in Canada.

they're real.... if i'm not mistaken, i remember most of the low end mp series are not make in japan. only the ones above mp55 has "Make in Japan" on the shaft.
i happen to go to the same store as yours and they now even carry mp66 CD version for cad$199. quite expensive though.
