Excuses
What do you think was the best/most convincing excuse for
losing in this WC?
1) I had the flu and did not want to upset schedule by
withdrawing
2) Injured
3) I did not train hard enough
4) Stoned silence
What was the most over-gracious statement made by victor?
1) My opponent was tired. He is one of the best players but things just went my way.

Re: Excuses
Poor girl (CM). To loose 1-11 and 0-11 to gong Z tells me her nightmares are pretty bad too.

Re: Excuses
That was not an excuse - just a fact :-) - too many Chinese girls with nandrolone thighs, who was nowhere to be seen when the doping control showed up - makes you think, right ? ;-)

Re: Excuses
No harm stating your view but what has doping got to do with
badminton? If doping so effective China will probably win
everything, not just ladies.Europeans should lodge an official
complaint if they suspect any opponent is cheating. One needs
very strong legs to play badminton, that's why there's emphasis
on weight training. Are all body builders on dope?

Re: Excuses
u knw, in badminton, 1 needs to be nimble and fleet footed, more muscle will mean more weight on the feet. no doubt, if muscle increase is proportionate, it will help, but not all the time. hand-eye coordination is important, doesn't mean dat power will win. power helps, but endurance and skill is wut really counts.

Re: Excuses
To Cooler : Nandrolon is a (male ?) hormone that controls the growth of muscles. It has become very popular in later years in other sports, that require similar types of agility as B. But of course this would never happen in our beloved game, right ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree - there is more to it than muscles, but the extra muscle mass that some of the players seem to have put on, may be just what makes the extra difference. Of course there is an upper limit as to how much muscle mass constitutes an advantage, but women seem to gain more of an advantage just like we used to see with East German female swimmers. Anyway it wouldn't be the first time for the Chinese. For some people winning is the most important thing no matter the price. As for the Olympics : Maybe they were just lucky, or the test wasn't fully implemented yet ? ( as was the case for EPO *SIGH* ) - or they may have begun this program after the Olympics ?
There are ways of timing your (illegal) muscle building, so that your hormone levels are safely below the limits, when the competition and drug controls take place. However this is difficult to control precisely, so why run the risk of being caught with the fingers in the cookie jar. I suspect that the mysterious disappearences of the Chinese players at several occasions that "by pure chance" coincided with the arrival of the doping control people in the arena, has to be viewed in that light. It was remarkable how much progress the Chinese players have had since the olympics against other nation's players, who have trained equal amounts and who at least were able to give them a match or even take set at the Olympics. The doping control was very loose in S. If players weren't
present, they were not tested. If they were "unable" to produce a drop
, they were not tested . Our players (DK) thought the doping control efforts were hilarious
. Maybe the control officials were asked from above not to take it too seriously ? That has happened before in other sports.
I was so remarkable a pattern that both coaches and journalists noticed it and discussed it openly, which they would hesitate to do normally. That's where I heard the term "cute nandrolon thighs"
. I also heard something about Chinese women with mysterious dark voices - not one of the attributes you normally associate with them
I really hope that I am wrong, because I love this sport - it's just that the Chinese performance was almost too convincing and full of strange coincidences. Believe it or not - the players from other nations actually do practice a lot too
- guess we must be using the wrong methods *LOL* .
Cheers
