Jonas Rasmussen and Lars Paaske were trudging off towards the exit, having just lost a brilliant game against the Koreans in the Men's doubles. A young boy, oblivious to the situation, came to the front and beckoned Jonas to sign his programme. It would have been easy for him to walk by, given that he had just lost in the Olympics.

However he came over and gave the boy his autograph, even though his disappointment was clearly visible. I was sat two rows back, and was very impressed that he did this. Congratulations Jonas, even though you had just lost, you still maintained excellent public relations. :)

Jonno, are you watching the Olympics live at the Goudi stadium? Wow, can you tell us the situation and "heat" there? We would love to hear stories ... :)

    Class don't come close.

In the game where he put out Kim and Ra, he blew a kiss to the fans after the first game to aknowedge the fans who were cheering and chanting.

Whilst playing an unbeaten team over the last 18 months he was still thinking of showing his appreciation to the fans and team mates who were suporting him and Rikke.

    Jonas the "peoples champ"

I'm on the internet at the hotel at the moment, so not enough time to write stories! I've got some pics though, and I'll post them when I get back.

All I can say about the 'situation' is that the level of support from 'smaller' badminton nations is very good. Of course Indonesia, Malaysia and Denmark have brought many fans, but the likes of Poland, USA and especially Spain have matched them. The Spanish were amazing, they really lifted their players.

For me the highlight of course was watching the British mixed pair get into the final yesterday, the atmosphere was brilliant with GB fans in a block at the front, and the Danes behind us. I supported Britain, but it was a shame Jonas went out, I'd have liked him to win the men's doubles.

After that I was sat to the side amongst the Chinese fans, and then the players Sang Yang, Zheng Bo, Chen Hong, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng sat right behind me! It was a bit weird!

Shame I'm going home in two days...:(

Yes and after the Robertson/Emms game even though it must have been painful he still hugged Nathan & was thinking about charity and fans here by swapping shirts.

Unbelievable level of sportmanship. Number one player in our hearts.

    Thank you!

Thank you for these kind words!!

I always strive to do my best both on and off court!!

Maybe the olympic spirit got to me here??

About the boy asking me to get an autograph, I was once a small boy too and wanted autographs as well. Therefore, I try to do this because I know it´s great for the young kinds to have this kind of contact with the players!!

    Kind Regards

    Jonas
