Chen Hong, chinese last hope in M/S lost his game against Shun seung mo. What can I say? That proved that my previous thought about him is right. He is not stable enough to win a tough game.
Chen Hong did give his all and was really pumped up throughout the match but I think he lost out due to lack of variation to his game. Although he has improved his defence against smashes (great to see him diving all around the court to retrieve them) his general set-up play is still the same: Get to net Force lift Killer smash As the game progressed, Shon saw that and there were at least four occasions where Shon took a gamble and dived into Chen's net shot during net exchanges. That was coming to the end of the game I guess it gave Chen a bit more to think about but he still persisted in playing the tight net shots under pressure that Shon would dive in and inevitably, be forced into making the error. But yeah, I'm so disappointed that no Chinese men's singles player will get a shot at olympic gold... nor even bronze for the matter. People have been saying that Xia Xian Ze should have been included, but it's easy to say that now. People should look more at Lin Dan and Bao Chun Lai, whom many believed would go a long way in the tournament.
I think many people said that well before the olympics... The chinese results only confirm this, though we of course can't know how Xia Xuanze what have performed if he had been selected...
China peak too early for Olympics, they can't succeed in both Thomas Cup and Olympics (well they could, but not easy) ... plus most of the Chinese players are still young, some of them are inconsistence like Bao and Chen Hong, too bad Xia didn't make it, he could've made a different.Korea seems to do very well so far ...
Badminton Is not major for China~ THE OTHER THING I AM SO ANGRY AT IS THAT THE PATHETIC TABLE TENNIS!! FOR CHINA!! WHAT THE HECK!! ATHEN RESTRICTED!! I WAS LIKE.>>......ARRRRRR
It wasn't just the table tennis and badminton. China had Gold all wrapped up in the Men's diving, but one guy slipped as he made his jump and landed flat like a pancake . The judges gave him 0. I didn't get to catch it, but that's what I heard.
No Chinese in semis and a Thai in semis. Noone would have predicted that. Indonesians won medal in the last 2 Olympics despite winning Thomas Cup so I don't think it's a good excuse to say China men singles and doubles peaked too early
Wow, what dissapointment. Xia's prolly sitting at home in Zhejiang thinking "hey I coulda been in the semis already!" Boonsak All the way for Thai glory!!
I think alot of us alredy make it very clear BEFORE the OLYMPIC, Xia Xuanze should be included in the team....He would make the difference......too bad he wont have the chance to prove that now...
yah... the one who wanna go athens so much is left at home.... the one who get to go is playing so badly in the 1st round.... he must have left his heart in beijing.... hahaha
Maybe Xia would not perform well either even if he is selected... The Chinese started as top seeds and none of them qualifies for the semis...
but i believe Xuanze will put in his heart and all the efforts to play well........ even if he lost, he had done his best........ but obviously that 1st round is not Lin Dan's best
how u know??????.........he doenst even have the chance to play ........and to wat i noe, he always perform better in big tourney...
Judging by Lin Dan's performance in the first round, i'm sure Xia can perform better than that... but if you were Li Yongbo, would you pick Xia over the on-form Super Dan? Xia is a great player, but he is not doing well this year..
