hmmm..... I do really hope Mia to win so people won't judge her by stamina or fatness only.

if Mia does win, it will give a whole new meaning to the phrase:

"it is not over till the fat lady sings...."

i hope people understands the reference.

    hmm...tough choice~
Personally I want Mia to win though both of them r no longer young and of course oppotunities will become less. But Chinese played rather bad in this Olympics maybe a complete failure will give them better lessons~

ah. Dunno why I thought she played XD.

P.S. she played XD with Tijs Creemers in the 2004 European Team Championships this April. Maybe that's the start of something...

I thought Zhang NING rhymes better with the word SING.

Sorry folks, don't take it too seriously. Undoubtedly Mia is a talented player having beaten Zhang at such a tender age of 14 and despite her 'exile' from Indonesia and the 'mental torture' from relatives and friends because of her marriage. She has now put all these behind her and this has been reflected in her play at this Olympics by beating Gong Ruina so convincingly.

Yes both Mia and Zhang deserved to be crowned Olympic Champ but as there is only one jewel available, one of them has to lose. Just that only an insignificant majority thought that Zhang deserves it more. And it happens that I'm one of them. I guess Lady Luck will decide the issue for them.

    Thumbs up

ok... so china now has one gold medal... Zhang ning becomes olympics 2004 champion...
I just sneaked out of my workplace to watch this match... .. man, this match was really incredible... till the end, it was never clear that who will win.. Audina was lagging 5-10 for medal point... then she came back and took it to 7-10... it looked as if she yearns for it.. and why not... Olympic champion title was at stake... but she was tired wanting to finish the rallies early and making unforced errors... Zhang was more composed during later set.. she was a mix of aggresion and composure... and commanded till last...
After the last point, she was crying, positively in extreme happiness... it was incredible...

Sorry Pal, you got it the other way round. It was Zhang Ning who won not Mia as your result seems to indicate!
